They Came From Beyond The Stars!

[Kerr]

"The council. Please, just let us go." came a thought into Nancy's head.
---
"Fine, put them through the portal before we blow it." said Alexi.

[Musicman247]

"No," said Nancy. "Wait. They said something about a council."

We'll let you go if you tell us what we want to know, she said.

[Kerr]

One of the aliens jumped off the ship and ran towards the gate. Catherine took aim at him.

[p-sto]

Jim raised his gun and fired a shot in the air to let the greys know that they were willing to kill them if they didn't cooperate.

[Musicman247]

Nancy stood in the way of the running alien, trying to stop it since she was already at the gate.

[p-sto]

Hidden:

Remembered my gun is suppressed. They should still hear it but it won't have the same impact.

[Kerr]

The grey used a mind blast to knock Nancy off her feet. It was almost at the gate. "Will I shoot?" asked Catherine. The one on stop of the ship was still shaking in fear.

[Musicman247]

Nancy was standing right in front of the gate when the mind blast knocked her back and off her feet.

Hidden:

Would she be knocked through the gate?

[Velvet LeChance]

Sam glanced again through the grate to check if the creature was still there. Rifle at the ready in case of an unexpected attack.

[p-sto]

"Nancy are you alright?" Jim called out, ignoring Catherine's question. He started to run towards her.

[Kerr]

Nancy landed on her bum just short of the gate. The grey ran through the portal.
---
The bug was still eating the dog.

[Velvet LeChance]

"Oh for [&@%!] sake." Sam grumbled quietly to himself as he watched the creature feed a moment before looking down at the walkie-talkie hung at his waist. He was tempted to radio Jim, ask how the mission was getting on but had so far resisted that urge. They were on a mission that required stealth his voice sounding at a crucial moment could get them all killed.

Giving a small sigh to himself he leant up against the vent walls.

[Musicman247]

"I'm ok," Nancy said. "I still want to question the other one, though."

What is the council? she asked the last grey

[Kerr]

The bug finished eating the dog and walked back over to the forest it came from.
---
"They are the people in charge." came the thought to Nancy. "If you can call them that anyway."

[p-sto]

Jim stopped moving towards Nancy now that he knew she was alright and instead neared the grey, training his gun on it so it knew that it wouldn't be able to get away as easily as its friend.

[Musicman247]

People like me, or people like you,?Nancy asked.

[Kerr]

"Neither." came the thought to Nancy.

[Musicman247]

"Guys, the greys are working for another race," Nancy said.

What are you doing here? Are they trying to invade this planet? Nancy asked.

[Kerr]

Yes. The council find a species, conquer them and make them part of the empire. sent the grey to Nancy.

[Velvet LeChance]

With the creature gone Sam moved towards the vent entrance and attempted to remove the grate again.

[Kerr]

Sam did it no problem.

[Musicman247]

"The council takes over planets, not the greys," Nancy said.

Would destroying this gate stop the council from invading here? she asked.

[p-sto]

Jim considered what Nancy said and thought about it. "Ask him if he wants asylum. Even after we destroy the gate we'll still have aliens to fight. It could be helpful if we can demonstrate that we can be merciful and there can be peace between us."

[Musicman247]

Nancy nodded and asked, Do you want asylum? Stay with us and we'll protect you.

[Kerr]

That wasn't the deal. Just let me go. sent the grey to Nancy. He jumped off the ship and ran towards the gate.
