They Came From Beyond The Stars!

[Kerr]

The guard stood up in flames. He was screaming. Alexi and Catherine both fired at his head and he stumbled backwards. He was still standing but badly wounded.
----
The grey crawled away from Nancy and started to stand. "Get away from us." was the thought Nancy got just as a blast from a plasma rifle killed the grey. It was from the other guard, the one who wasn't on fire. He let out a growl filled with anguish. It was clear that guard didn't mean to kill the grey.

[p-sto]

Jim fired at the non-flaming guard.

[Velvet LeChance]

Sam, feeling that he had spent a sufficient amount if time waiting on the Alien to leave, approached the grate and attempted to peer out in the direction that he had seen the creature last. He held his carbine at the ready in case he was suddenly attacked.

[Kerr]

The bullet hit off the cover, the non-flaming guard was fine.
--
The flaming guard dropped his rifle due to confusion. He reached for his pistol. Alexi was reloading.
---
The bug was still eating the dog.

[Musicman247]

Nancy tried to crawl to cover on the opposite side of the room from the guards.

[p-sto]

Jim fired a burst of shots at the flaming guard again.

[Kerr]

The non-flaming guard fired at Nancy but missed and hit the ship. Nancy reached the gate.
----
Jim's shots blasted through the guard's head. He fell backwards to the ground before he could take out his gun. The guard was dead.

[p-sto]

Jim started firing at the remaining guard.

[Musicman247]

Nancy looked for the control panel.

[Kerr]

After looking for a bit Nancy managed to find a control panel that she could open up.
---
The guard stayed in cover and didn't shoot. Jim hit the cover again.

[Musicman247]

Nancy tried to see if she could look through the gate as she opened the panel.

[p-sto]

Jim kept firing.

[Kerr]

The gate was a black goo. She couldn't see from this side. However Nancy could stick her head through it to see what was on the other side. She opened the control panel in a downwards manner.
---
The bullets worked as the guard stayed in cover.

[Musicman247]

Nancy's feeling that something wasn't right overrode anything else at the moment. Looking would only take a second. She put her head in.

[p-sto]

Jim shouted, "Nancy what are you doing," as he saw her put her head in the portal. He had no idea if it was even safe for her to do so. He hesitated for a moment, overwhelmed with worry, then fired at the guard again.

[Kerr]

The bullet hit the guard this time. He was wounded. Alexi let out another burst to keep the guard in cover. Catherine still bided her time, waiting for the perfect shot.
----
It was night time on the other side. There were 3 moons in the sky of all different sizes. Nancy didn't recognize the stars. She appeared to be a the end of an airfield, she could see a military complex about a kilometer away. She could feel the cool air on her face, she was in a desert. Nancy couldn't see any aliens, whether they were people, plants or animals.

[Musicman247]

Nancy pulled her head out of the gate and drew her laser pistol. She looked for an open shot on the remaining guard, taking it if she found it.

[Kerr]

Nancy hit the guard in the eyes. He wasn't wearing a helmet and it [crippled] them. He began rolling and putting his hands over his eyes. He stuck his head out of cover as he rolled. Catherine used the opportunity to shot the guard in the head badly wounding him.

[p-sto]

Jim fired a shot at the guard.

[Kerr]

Jim hit the guard in the head killing him.
--
There were still two greys on top of the alien ship.
--
"What did you see?" asked Alexi.

[p-sto]

Jim aimed at the greys but didn't fire as they weren't armed. "Do you think we should question them?" He asked Nancy.

[Musicman247]

"There's another planet on the other side," Nancy said, putting away her gun. "It has breathable air, and no aliens that I could see." She asked the aliens Why are you here?

[Dirty Spaceman]

Sid had continued to be spectacularly unhelpful through the firefight, but it is worth noting that he'd refined to an art the process of hoping that his teammates wouldn't get hurt.

"Maybe we can convince the rest of the greys to go home," he suggested. "You know, go through the portal and then let us close it behind them."

[Kerr]

"We just work here." came a thought to Nancy. "Please just let us go."
---
"Because they won't kill us first." said Catherine in a sarcastic tone. "No, we blow it now. But who knows what it will be like once we do. We put a grenade in it and run."

[Musicman247]

Who do you work for? Nancy asked

"The greys say they just work here. They're asking us to let them go," she said to evetone else.
