Would a khajiit ally with the Empire or Nord Rebellion?
Just curious, I've been playing a Khajiit "jack-of-all-trades" type character since 11-11-11 that prefers Heavy armor and giant swords and I can't decide, I am looking at it from my characters perspective and it seems the Empire is a slightly better choice due to my Khajiit caravan fellows not being allowed inside the cities but I don't like the Empires stuck up attitude... I also hate some racist Nord's as well though that will occasionally call my character names while walking through town... I would like your input such as what you would pick and why?
I am level 25 and still haven't decided but would really like to pick one or the other so please help... If I choose Empire I'll roll a Nord next playthrough in a few months or so... or If I go with the Nord Rebellion I will pick an Imperial or Breton most likely.
Maybe if you could fill me in on what you personally think a Khajiit would pick and why if they HAD to make a choice with no other option.

I had a tough time deciding about my Khajiit too. I went with Stormcloaks since the Empire was going to have me assassinated.
Also they call me "milk-drinker" all the time. Terrible insult lol

They do? I think that was on someone's wishlist for things in Skyrim.BabyKiller209 wrote:I had a tough time deciding about my Khajiit too. I went with Stormcloaks since the Empire was going to have me assassinated.

OT: Is your character trying to really prove himself as a Khajiit, and as an adventurer in general? If so, you should probably join the Empire.

My character wants freedom for his people in Skyrim pretty much, he is sick of them not being allowed in cities and just not given respect in general. I think I'll just go with the Empire because they at least give Khajiit equal rights and were against slavery in Morrowind and Oblivion. I don't like them on a personal basis but I do like what they stand for if that makes any sense.

I'd say that rather than approaching it from a racial standpoint, approach it from the individual's point of view. Yeah, one side might make more or less sense for any given race, but that's the great thing about a game like this; you're free to choose that stuff based on how YOU want your character to be.
Incidentally, I play a Bosmer and I get called milk-drinker, too, and yes, it's a terrible insult. One which gets answered with a face full of fireball.

Re: Would a khajiit ally with the Empire or Nord Rebellion?
It all depends on who the Khajiit is. I roleplayed a Khajiit being raised in Skyrim by the Jarl of Whiterun himself, and joined the rebellion. The irony hurts later .

Re: Would a khajiit ally with the Empire or Nord Rebellion?
First, slightly off-topic, but the insult 'milk-drinker' is referring to people who are 'suckling from the Empire' bosom, too reliant on Imperial Coin' not a direct insult to Khajiit (But oh the irony).
Second, there are too ways to take it depending on your character's background: If he is more affluential in political terms, he'd side with the Empire since both States of Elsweyr are allied with the Thalmor. If he's a bottom rung of Khajiit culture such as a traveler, bandit, former slave, what have you, he should either side with the Empire because of the Nords' mistreatment of Khajiit or the Stormcloaks for the more personal reason of 'Independence/They didn't try to execute me for almost no reason'

Where can I find more information about this in-game? I was under the impression that Elsweyr and Black Marsh had both seceded from the Empire.Chaos the N'wah wrote:both States of Elsweyr are allied with the Thalmor

No, it's true. Check out this lore book, found in-game.
Regardless of the truth of the matter, the Khajiit credited the Thalmor as their saviors. Within fifteen years, Imperial influence in Elsweyr had so diminished that the Empire was unable to respond effectively to the coup of 4E 115 which dissolved the Elsweyr Confederacy and recreated the ancient kingdoms of Anequina and Pelletine as client states of the Aldmeri Dominion. Once more the Empire failed to stop the advance of Thalmor [sic] power.

Re: Would a khajiit ally with the Empire or Nord Rebellion?
The Thalmor's rise is riveting.
Travalanche, I'm not up to date enough to make an outright decision, but if the 'Prideful Nords are racist towards my character' thing every really gets to you, I would side with the Imperial Army. They've been shoveling insults at my Dunmer all week. My motivations is to strengthen the Thalmor, being an elf sympathizer, but yours could be to strike back at the Nords. However, the Imperials did trick you out of Leyawiin (irrelevant by now though), and failed to stop a major coup. Which revenge is sweeter?
The way Emperor Palpatine did it. Hitler too.During the crisis, the Crystal Tower was forced to give the Thalmor greater power and authority.

Since my Khajiit (named S'ushi
) should go sneaky thief/assassin, I will go with Stormcloaks. Empire is the "right-path" and my character is not made this way

@j31c3n: Sorry, I didn't think you were, I meant "no" as more of an interjection.
Considering the facts, I would probably side with the Thalmor as a Khajiit in the 4th Era. I've been studying the 4th Era Thalmor in a fair degree of depth, and I have foudn that they are interested in continuing the conflict in Skyrim as much as possible, while preventing either side from winning out-right, particularly the Stormcloaks. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Thalmor ... Stormcloak

I think I'm going to end up siding with the Stormcloaks because I've never really liked Altmer or Bosmer. Altmer just rub me the wrong way and Bosmer still make me think "Fargoth." (And yes, I am playing as a Khajiit. An anti-authority Khajiit.)

Certainly, it really depends more on your character's personal background than what race they are. Although both Khajiiti are alligned with the Thalmor, there is no reason that Khajiit characters would have to "follow party lines."

Re: Would a khajiit ally with the Empire or Nord Rebellion?
My Khajiit went with the Stormcloaks. She doesn't like the Imperials or the Empire, plus she takes little things like the Empire trying to behead her very seriously. She also finds the Thalmor stuck up, especially since they insult her more than the Stormcloaks did. She can also see a way in which to improve the lives of her fellow Khajiit - maybe if she proves incredibly useful to Ulfric Stormcloak, maybe he'll realise that non-Nords deserve rights as well.
Plus, she likes Nords, they have lots of stamina for lots of fun things!

Empire V Stormcloaks.
Imperials tried to cut your head off. Could be a case of mistaken justice but a highly personal one. They may be harsh but try to enforce a peace.
Stormcloaks want Skyrim for the Nords only. Anyone opposing their aims get crushed e.g. the native Forsworn in west Skyrim.

Oh, I ended up going with the Stormcloaks by the way. I realized that having your head almost cut off sort of overrules anything else. Sorry if this is a necropost but the topic is universally relevant to Skyrim on any date and time so I feel it's justified.

FYI, it's 3 months for a necropost.
But then, you are the OP, so it's slightly less not that bad...
Personally, my Khajiit character stays neutral leaning towards empire, but that's from his RP and backstory.
The great thing about Skyrim is that the potential for a character is unlimited, so really it comes down to how they would act.

Re: Would a khajiit ally with the Empire or Nord Rebellion?
Yep! My first Khajiit went with the Stormcloaks for the reasons I posted above, yet my new Khajiit merchant is staying neutral due to the fact that he finds more opportunities for money-making in the conflict, plus lots of chances to...acquire both Stormcloak and Imperial valubles. However, he does lean slightly towards the Imperials, but only due to certain limitations I've added into the roleplay, such as only being allowed into a city after three sidequests in that hold and even then he's only allowed in from 6am to 6pm unless he becomes a Thane. Hence, he will never be allowed to stay in Windhelm after dark, unless I can roleplay a very good reason for him being there.CBR JGWRR wrote: The great thing about Skyrim is that the potential for a character is unlimited, so really it comes down to how they would act.
Then again, that's more a game mechanic issue than a roleplay issue, but meh. Makes for a fun roleplay element.

The Khajiit would hide in the bushes and loot the corpses after the battle ends, of course.
Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.

Re: Would a khajiit ally with the Empire or Nord Rebellion?
In my opinion since the khajiit is allied with the thalmor you could roleplay a thalmor agent. In fact theres many khajiit agents in skyrim already. As for a side i would ultimately choose empire. Empire is more likely to favor a khajiit in their ranks especially a heavy armored one. you can get intel on them, spying on them while putting on the disguise of helping the people of skyrim. Khajiit are sneaky, cunning, liars, and the best deceivers you'll ever meet so it isn't to far fetched.
