Re: Dragon Claws
I've sold both the gold and the saphire (I think that's the one in Ivarstead). Are they both attached to future quests? :/

i think if its still needed for a quest it wouldnt let you sell them only after they have unlocked the door its designer for. not confirmed though as i never sell them i collect them

Yeah, if you still need them you can't lose them.
Unless they glitch and then you can't lose them even when you don't need them.
Happened to me with the Ruby claw.

Re: Dragon Claws
I don't believe all dragon claws are quest related, I personally have a chest full of the various dragon claws that I have collected over my travels and well over half didn't have a quest, whether or not you can remove them from your inventory before you have used them I do not know.

Claws open special doors in various places and some are necessary to finish quests.
Dont fear the shadows only what hides within them

Re: Dragon Claws
Seriously ? This is pretty stupid. I have had a bow stuck with me called "Dravin's Bow" I think ? It's a quest item, but I have no journal entry about it, which is weird. Although a way to drop it is to equip it and put it in a weapon wrack.Evil-i wrote:Oh great. You're saying Bethesda rigged Skyrim to allow yourself to become over-encumbered with undroppable items? How marvelous.
On topic, I have never had a problem with the Dragon Claws and I have tons of them. I can take them in and out of my inventory as I please.

As previously pointed out, Quest Items appear to have a weight, but actually do not until you complete the quest.mcjordalini wrote:Seriously ? This is pretty stupid.Evil-i wrote:Oh great. I know that at least one claw that is used for more than one dungeon and has a quest associated with it. I figure that as long as quest items have no weight it isn't an awful thing to have the items sit around forever. Annoying to see in your inventory, but not terrible.

It would appear I stand corrected. In my defense however I have never actually tried to drop a dragon claw until well after I had completed the accompanying dungeon. The Dog Whisperer wrote:Glass one is related toZero_The_Dark wrote:Spoiler:Iron Claw is related toSpoiler:Spoiler:

Re: Dragon Claws
Ok to clarify, quest items show that they have weight, but the don't encumber you. My character uses bound sword, has the light armour weighs nothing perk & has the in his inventory which shows it weighs 20, but I'm not encumbered by it at all. Some dragon claw keys aren't quest related this can be sold on but you should explore the barrow that shows on your map after it's acquisition.

All of them, that I have come across at least, have opened a door to a dragon wall, so anyone trying to get all the words will likely have to get all the claws

Do the claws respawn; I am doing the Radiant quest Shalidor's Insights that has sent me back to the ruin where I need the ivory claw. I had ether sold it, put it in a chest that I later found out that it respawns.

I can't tell, is this a statement that the claws respawn or a question of whether or not they do respawn?Cowboy Ram wrote:Do the claws respawn; I am doing the Radiant quest Shalidor's Insights that has sent me back to the ruin where I need the ivory claw. I have gotten myself into an issue. I sold the Ivory Dragon claw and am unable to finish the Reforge mission. I have no idea where I sold it and the people I most likely sold it to do not have it. Any hints? Am I stuck?

Re: Dragon Claws
Pretty much. As far as I know there is only one of each claw. Unless you can find who you sold it to (I don't know if they would have sold it or not) you're pretty much out of luck.
