Re: Helcêh's Corruption - The City of the Kalkechián
Why so stubborn, Dovah? When everyone including the DM recommends that you avoid conflict with a character, they may be speaking in your interest. I've been thinking of slipping in a character sheet before this one starts but between the impressive text wall of background and the promise of a dysfunctional team that will try to kill my character, I'm on the fence. At least in Blacklight most of us got along for a while before everyone turned on each other.

Re: Helcêh's Corruption - The City of the Kalkechián
I'm not being stubborn. I'm just exploring some possibilties. I will try to avoid having Navariese getting into conflict with Alva whenever possible(Unless Alva does something that justifies the conflict). She may not even talk that much to the group and when she does, it's probably going to be battle related or other important stuff. It really depends on how it turns out.
EDIT: I'm going to stop talking about Alva and Navariese as i realise it seems i'm trying to start something. I am not. Just very eager to see how it plays out.

You pretty much can rely on two player characters not to try to kill other pcs, Yalveni and Gelnius...

Alva is a murderer and a thief. She doesn't care about your characters morals. If your character is starting to get real irritating and refuses to die she'll just avoid it.
@P-sto: Alva is the only dysfunctional member. The rest are of the honourable, always play fair type. Even then Alva isn't even that bad. She's only tried to kill two PC's both of them wronged her first.

Navariese should be able to get along with them without any problems. I wouldn't say that Navariese is honourable as she had resorted to fighting dirty in the past. You really don't want to know how dirty she can fight.

Anyway, Aradir is Lasséor's cousin and should be able to influence her enough to get Alva to not kill anyone.

@p-sto: We have an old elf to explain the world; lore knowledge isn't that important.

Since most people are ignorant yokels (NPCs), it wouldn't really be out of place if you didn't know a lot about the lore.

Hey, I recommend waiting for the roleplay to actually happen before exploring possibilities. We don't know what Pomcey's going to throw at our characters.Thelastdovah wrote:I'm not being stubborn. Maybe it isn't a trap. Maybe we should just all light each other on fire and dance naked in the street.

Re: Helcêh's Corruption - The City of the Kalkechián
I have to wonder what the purpose is of a one person teleport spell. Do I want to be the character that abandons the entire group once things get hard? I'm not sure, may be I do.

Assuming you are strong enough to cast it. Magic's hard to use when you bleeding out. You'll have to talk fast.

Re: Helcêh's Corruption - The City of the Kalkechián
Well when push comes to shove, I don't know how focused I would be if an ork were stabbing at me. My instincts would tell me just to stab back. Maybe that is why I get hurt so much.

If I wanted a fast moving character effective with a dagger and light armor would a spellsword or magic thief be better?

Re: Helcêh's Corruption - The City of the Kalkechián
Hmmm... They're roughly the same... It would probably depend on his personality. Is he a thieving character or a more honourable one?

I wouldn't really say thieving but measured and evasive, perhaps a little cowardly. Seem like thievy characteristics.

Magic thieves are good at sneaking but spellswords are stronger and more resilient. It's really up to you.
