I was exploring in Morrowind and I could have sworn that I saw some Nirnroots.

When you're forced to unplug because the charge on your wireless controller died... And then your spare died...
When you're level 3 when you turn the game on and start playing, and level 30 when you finally turn it off...
When you can compute all the game math in your head on the fly...
When you play, not to see if you can beat the game with 100% completion, but to see how fast you can beat the game with 100% completion...
When you no longer need to consult the wiki to see what a quest - any quest - entails, or ever need to ask an npc to point out a location on the map in order to find it...

When you want to open the console of your work computer and reset the time compression so the last 2 hours finishes by the time you walk to the soda machine and back.

When you read all this posts, and the further you come, the more you start to think, and a strange feel
takes over you, that actually, you suffer from it all ..

Re: You know you've been playing Oblivion for too long when.
You look closely for Daedra around every gate you open.
You approach the boundary of your cell and you CTD.
It's been a long day, but you swear it was a distant White Gold Tower just over that hill.
You walk too slowly by a protector of the law and expect a "Move along, Citizen".
You wait, you travel, you return, you wonder... is it 72 hours (3 days) yet? Looks like another broken quest!

I'm being serious.
Once I played Morrowind for too many marathon sessions and I heard a loud noise behind me and quickly looked up at the sky to see the cliff racer.
As for Oblivion, well, it's a little bit of everything.

You have been staring for hours at the screen without even batting an Ayleid.

Re: You know you've been playing Oblivion for too long when.
There was really only one moment that I ever thought I played the Elder Scrolls series too much.
Once I was walking down the street when I saw a plant that looked very much like a nirnroot. My hand ACTUALLY reached out for it before I realized that real life didnt work that way
Had a very awkward feeling after that

When you look at the sky at morning or evening, and seeing pinkish clouds, start looking around for oblivion gates.

When you see some people's faces and immidetly think he/she would make a good orc. I compare almost every person i see to the oblivion races.

When you can recite minor character dialogue a line before the char does.

A few years ago something shocked me and I shouted: "By the nine!" But I think that's as far as my mind merged with oblivion.
