EDGE Gaming was founded in 2009 during the NA release of Aion.
The community was founded by Maximus (Archilles then), the reasoning and idea of EDGE was based upon creating a gaming community that could step outside of the box, have a hardcore mentality so that we could support players who have great skill but may not have all day everyday to devote to a game and be something more then just a simple guild in a simple game.
How do we find a way to step outside of the “box”? Easy. We have 3 specific philosophies we play by and our motto. Take it to the EDGE!
Determination – Having the ability to set a formidable goal for ourselves, prepare for it and then try our best to hit it.
Teamwork – We won’t just shove you into a TS/Vent channel and expect you to play the game on your own (unless you want to). We provoke social conversation between each other, strategize and will openly ask each other if help is needed or wanted because being comfortable with each other when playing with a team is what helps us to succeed and prevent negative events from surfacing.
Experience – Though EDGE has been around for 4 years, 75% of our membership has played MMO, FPS, RTS and other game types for over 15-20 years. We have very experienced, professionally minded players who not only help to lead their groups but also mentor and assist new members in either completing content or educating someone on a subject they might not be entirely knowledgeable of.
These 3 philosophies are what have driven EDGE to the point it is now. Alive and kicking… Hard.
Goals
Edge is now looking to expand into TESO and to become one of the top guilds for the Aldmeri Dominion. Having maintained a 20-0 record in WvWvW during our time playing Guild Wars 2 we have the experience to back it up. Our ambitions for PvE are no less, our membership contains various world first, server first, and top end progression level players and we strive to maintain excellence in our play.
Rules / Guidelines

The expectations you will be reading through are not put in place to restrict you from having fun or enjoying your gaming/socializing experience, these are simply put in place so that a majority of your time here in our community, you and others around you will have less headaches and dramatic situations to deal with.
Teamspeak
- Situational/Joking around swearing is allowed. However swearing specifically at another member or in negative response to failing a certain objective is not allowed. This shows you can't handle pressure and do not have the patience to work as a team or become a better player.
- Racism or Homophobic attacks will not be tolerated. We are all gamers and apart of the same community so support each other and do not define a person by their skin colour or their personal interests.
- When your on your PC, your on Teamspeak. Simple. If you want to be left alone, no problem we have many channels of which you can sit in alone just as long as we can contact you or get a hold of you if we need you that is the important part. If need be we can even create a TS channel specifically for you if that would make it easier for you.
Community-wide Guidelines
Activity. Now here's the important part. Without active membership your community will have a much harder time thriving and progressing through content or anything for that matter. No members online = Nothing.
So since we are a Semi-hardcore community we do set a minimum requirement for activity which consists of being online on Teamspeak or the Website at least 3 days a week. There's no specific hour expectation so if your currently in school even showing up for an hour or two 3 times a week is acceptable just as long as we know what's going on.
Game Related Guidelines
Outer Respect - When playing a game whether it be MMO, FPS etc. we expect our membership to act professionally and respectfully. The more respect and maturity you show to others the higher chance we will have them want to join us as well or at the least respect our community as a whole.
Helpful Nature - We are foremost a Team, Family and Community. Therefore we leave no man behind and treat each other as equally as possible. If someone needs help with a quest, crafting, instance slot fill etc., we expect you to be one of the first people to say "Hey! I got you covered." Your only as strong as your weakest link.

Founder – Maximus | The owner and original founder of EDGE Gaming, he has high aspirations for the community, always willing to help or learn more to become a better leader/gamer. 15+ years of gaming experience towards multiple different game genres, consoles and guilds.
EDGE Council – Merix [Co-lead for ESO] / Jugga [Leader of DotA 2 division] | Council members consist of Leaders/Co-Leaders of current community divisions or a specialty rank specific towards the community as a whole. They organize the structure of their respective divisions, meetings and create a pyramid of organization between the ranks so that everything runs smoothly and can execute with little to no negative response.
Requirements:
Must be an Elite (Officer) within the community
Have a large aspiration towards an upcoming MMO, FPS or RTS game
Be willing to lead, prepare and recruit for this game
Elite (Officer) – An Elite is pretty much what the name suggests… an officer, a bad ass etc. Those who have earned this rank have shown excessive amounts of dedication towards this community and those within it. They are skilled, knowledgeable and well known among the membership. They are put in place to help the division leaders organize events, lead specific tactical groups, mediate tough situations and be a respectful role-model to those around them.
Requirements:
Must have a minimum of the Veteran (Exp. Member) rank
Request an officer application from a division leader
Prove that your the best of the best.
Captain – These are our team players, they have the aspiration to support the community as much as they can and prove it. They help to make sure everything is running smooth and help organize certain updates or support the regular membership if any help is needed. Depending on the situation may even be put in charge within a group for an instance, PvP or crafting.
Requirements:
Must have a minimum of the Ensign (Full Member) rank
Chosen out of the group by an officer or be requested by you and then tested.
Veteran – The experienced members of the community. These guys have seen people come and go yet here they stay, continuing to support EDGE Gaming and the aspirations we share for it. They show up day in and day out supporting their team and their family.
Requirements:
Minimum 4-6 months of membership
Substantially consistent activity on Teamspeak (5-7 days a week)
Ensign – This is considered the “full” membership rank. You’ve been accepted by those around you in the community as someone they’d like to keep and enjoy your presence. You show a positive impression on those around you and try your best to enjoy your time within the community/ community events relative.
Requirements:
Consistent activity on Teamspeak (3-5 days a week)
Passed Trial Period
Trial – Welcome to EDGE Gaming! This is where it all begins! Simply during your trial period (3-4 weeks) you will have forum and teamspeak access of which we pay attention to how well you get along with others, how active you are on TS or the website and how your experience affects those around you.

Final Word
We are first and foremost a family of gaming enthusiasts. For many of our members, gaming isn't just a hobby it is a lifestyle and our overall aspirations primarily consist of enjoying our gaming experience and progressing as a team. Our community is run with the belief that all of our members have a voice and that voice itself should be respected.
