future Skyrim DLC- High king/moot election and thalmor war

Post by Raven rock hero »

Dragonborn, Hearthfire and Dawnguard are all good dlcs. They add some extra content to skyrim, but I still wish to see an Add on that will drive the timeline forward. The last thing that happens in skyrim is the dragonborn defeating alduin and the imperial legion or stormcloaks taking full control over skyrim. In my opinion the ideal next DLC would sound similar to this:

the moot will declear the new high king, depending on stormcloak/imperial siding

A rebuilding of skyrim will occur. The dragonborn will together with Legate Rikke/ Galmar stone fist recieve a mission from general Tallius/ Ulfric stormcloak as a lieutenant to wipe out any old forts/ruins for bandits and later rebuild them to well functioning military camps.

The Thalmor embassy in skyrim will be destroyed both imperial/stormcloak intention

As a result the Aldmeri dominion will see to regain control over skyrim

a war between Imperial/nord and Aldmeri dominion will happen

What do you think of the idea, and what do you consider as the perfect future DLC ? :?: :)

The main problem with the next great war is that the Dovahkiin can't be involved or start it due to heroes requiring to be lost to history, they are only known by their titles.

The Moot is a good idea but i suspect Bethesda will start the next great war in the lore betweem Skyrim and TES6. The war wouldn't be suitable for a DLC due to the nature of it. The Dominion-Skyrim war wouldn't be done justice and Bethesda probably does not want to heavily modify the game in order to do it as a DLC.

The last thing I want to see is more "Capture fort X" quests. Which is probably what a Stormcloak/Imperial-Dominion war DLC would probably be like.

Whilst I like the idea of getting to see the moot first hand I can't see it happening. My guess is that in ES VI we'll get to hear about how the Thalmor stormed in before any High King/Queen could be chosen or something along those lines to avoid another Dragonbreak.

Beth must have something big in mind, and when i say big, i mean devastating. "the victor of the civil war doesn't even friggin matter" kinda devastating. That's the way they handle the lore between games, can't say i agree with their ways but eh..

We'll see soon enough.

Odds are that Beth will not do a follow-up of the main quest line. They have been avoiding doing this in the past at least.
The current Skyrim, Oblivion and Morrowind expansions are separate from the MQ's. Dragonborn brakes this rule (need to unlock dragons) , but only barely.
I guess this is so that someone who starts a new character for the expansion is not forced to redo things.
