Dragon Age: The Forgotten Wardens

[Baloth-Kul]

Brennis found himself in a panicked rage. Elf became beast, as he rushed to the tentacle holding Sertin in his wolf form, and snapped viciously at the base of the tentacle with his sharp teeth.

Roanor banged mace on shield threateningly, and drew ever closer to the stinking, rippling Broodmother.

[Hissien]

Nareniel took a deep breath and summoned vines to constrict the tentacles that were exposed.

Oghren was able to burst apart the tentacle that held him. Brennis was successful in helping Sertin down, and Arathir managed to get a hand free so he could slice himself free.

Zevran leapt and dodged across the room, cutting up tentacles so that the rest of the group was free to focus on the Broodmother itself. Erik and Alistair attacked the monstrosity's body, all the while trying to avoid its' freakish and wild movements and swipes.

[Hissien]

Nareniel shifted into his bear form and charged at the broodmother, raking his claws across her thick gelatinous hide.

[Unionhack]

Several genlocks began charging into the room, desperate to protect their broodmother. They focused their charge on Nareniel, the most direct threat in the room, but they were partially delayed by Arathir and Zevran.

Arathir tossed his dagger into a genlock's neck and sliced off the arm of another with his main blade, retrieving his off-hand dagger soon after in a quick, acrobatic move. Zevran performed a leg sweep and tripped a darkspawn to the ground, and proceeded to curb-stomp its head into a bloody puddle.

Landon lifted a group of darkspawn into the air, before crushing them to the ground. He then drew his sword and charged at the tentacles.

Err, Roanor used Threaten. Bit confused that they ignored her XD ah well

Surprised at having made it past the darkspawn defenders, Roanor shrugged, and slammed her mace into the Broodmother's lower-right breast. Ripples spread out across the monster's hide. Ew.

A high pitched whine spouted from Brennis' mouth as he saw the mace-on-breast action. He shook his wolfy head, and tore into a nearby darkspawn with tooth and nail.

[Kerr]

Airmed shot fireballs at the beast from a distance.

[Arch-Mage Matt]

Ben picked up his claymore and charged at the Broodmother. One of her tentacles got dangerously close to Colette, so she attempted to cut it in half.

[Unionhack]

The fireballs slammed into the large creature and caused it great pain in addition to the mace strikes on its side. The Broodmother turned its attention to Roanor and swiped at her.

Ben's attack cleaved the tentacle in twain. Sure enough, a few moments passed and another tentacle shot up in its place.

"Any idea what this thing is?" asked Airmed. She tried to create and inferno to consume a number of tentacles.

Landon pointed his sword forward and charged to help the dwarf.

[Baloth-Kul]

Roanor was a bit staggered by the Broodmother's blow, but pressed the attack. She struck again with her mace.

A tentacle half-heartedly struck Brennis in the side. He responded by tearing into it with his teeth, and the injured tentacle retreated into the floor.

[Eltee]

Hali, meanwhile, was viciously and relentlessly trying to keep the tentacles at bay with mighty, two-handed blows of her sword.

"Just hit the damn thing!" She yelled, before hacking off another whiplike appendage. "I'll try to keep the tentacles at bay! Get back here, you little..."

I wanted to wait for Hali to be back before I did this.

The Broodmother, enraged, began swinging her tentacles wildly as she was damaged more and more. Arathir ducked under a swing and sliced one, then continued to combat incoming Darkspawn.

Sections of the cave that were already rather weak began to crumble. Soon enough, small holes that were big enough to fall through were present in the room, leading only to an inevitably painful death by lava.

Gideon, busy combatting various darkspawn, backed away and slipped through a hole, stopping his descent only barely by hanging on to a ledge. Arathir rushed over and finished off the few darkspawn that had Gideon in their sights and leapt over to give Gideon a hand, but his friend slipped before he could get close enough. Arathir watched in horror as Gideon fell through the chamber down to the molten river below.

"GIDEON!" Arathir yelled out of pure despair as he watched his friend plummet helplessly, almost oblivious to what was happening around him.

[Eltee]

Hali watched in horror for just long enough to allow a tentacle to violently lash her, almost sending her careening off of her feet.

"Raaaahhh!" she grunted, spinning and hacking the appendage most of the way off. It retreated rapidly, hanging by a bloody, filmy thread.

He was there and then he was gone. Hali felt numb to it. She had grown close to him romantically when he was a handsome, charming, skilled ranger... Largely because he was handsome, charming and skilled ranger. When he had lost his vision, she had unwittingly tried to pull away... The physical attraction that had led her there was gone, replaced by (she really didn't want to admit it to herself) revulsion. She had barely said a word to him since then.

And now he was dead.

She clenched her teeth, and kept fighting. If didn't push him out of her mind for now, the damn Broodmother would get her for sure. She needed to concentrate.

[Unionhack]

"You son of a [&@%!]!" Arathir shouted as he charged for the Broodmother, his advance halted by frantic genlocks, new and old.

The Broodmother was obviously getting desperate, her minions and tentacles not being enough to stop the onslaught from the wardens and company. Squealing and squirming, the monster began spewing acid and grime all throughout the room.

[Baloth-Kul]

Acid splattered Roanor's. The dwarf was hurt, of course, and the surface of her armor sizzled, but she fought on. A lucky mace swing smacked the Broodmother in the jaw, resulting in a deep, angry bellow, and Roanor was floored by a thick tentacle. She got up, but was still being assault by tentacles. She shifted her focus to the immediate danger, swinging at the nearby tentacles.

Feeling a little more desperate, Brennis darted in for a quick nip at the Broodmother's blubbery hide. After a stinging smack by a tentacle, he retreated back to Sertin's side, and tore into a large tentacle, eventually severing part of it, and streaking his fur with grime and gore.

[Hissien]

The acids burned at the bear's fur, Nareniel dispersed into a swarm of hornets to escape the pain. He reformed clutching a burn on his side some distance away. Nareniel roared at the brood mother, siphoning her life energy into herself.

[Eltee]

A spatter of acid hit Hali in the chest, and immediately began hissing and smoking as it burned through her surcoat. With a panicked "Maker!", she tore off the fabric, baring the chainmail beneath, and continued fighting.

[Br3admax]

Landon had a shield up, that shattered when acid hit it. Drained of mana, Logan went to slashing with his sword.

[Unionhack]

The Broodmother screamed and seemed ready to unleashed another volley of acid when something started scaling her back. Oghren, full of rage and not down for the count in the slightest, roared as he repeatedly dug his axe into the back of the beast, covering himself in blood but grievously wounding the Broodmother.

The beast limped over and stopped her inhuman squealing and flailing, finally being still.

[Hissien]

"By the creators.... Is she finally dead?" Nareniel asked thoroughly exhausted.

[Kerr]

"What the [&@%!] was it?" asked Airmed.

[Baloth-Kul]

Roanor strode over and smacked the Broodmother on the head once more, to ensure that it was dead. It was. She shrugged. "Now what?"

Brennis shifted back into his usual form. He was streaked with grime and gore. He healed himself, Sertin, and everyone else he could, draining himself of mana in the process. He leaned forward, as if ready to fall over, but did not. Brennis regained his composure, and looked at Sertin, with a smile.

Healing magic tickled Roanor's wounds. She shrugged again. Weird.
