Re: Things you hate about skyrim
Like the rest of you who have played this game for a lot of hours, I don't hate this game at all. Are there certain things that I like about other games a bit more, or things that I could imagine that would improve it? Yeah, probably.
But as I've said before, if you hate this game and yet are still playing the hell out of it, google "things to do in ________" and plug in whatever city you live in in the blank. While your soul will be reincarnated infinitely until you become enlightened, you might as well enjoy what you're doing in this lifetime.

Re: Things you hate about skyrim
I haven't found anything to hate in Skyrim, but a few things annoy me to no end.
-Rain passes through everything if you are in an exterior zone. I can find a house, with four walls and a roof out in the middle of nowhere, and rain will continue to fall through.
-NPCs still having war dialogue long after I finished the Civil War. It's over guys, you don't need to worry about Ulfric coming into town anymore.
-Arrows clipping into things. Picture this: You're about to finish a Dwarven ruin, a Centurion stands between you and the way out. You are about to land a perfect sneak attack, and your arrow hits the wall that is three feet away. Position is compromised, and you're running away trying to dodge his attacks. Not a fun time.
Other than those annoyances, Skyrim continues to provide fun.

Ugh, I hate when that happens. Granted, my character's sneak is so high that enemies can never find her before she takes them down, but still...it's annoying.BladeHero wrote:-Arrows clipping into things. Speking of TES games in general, where all the guild questlines endings being canon. I hate it. It feels like i'm living in someone else's past and have no control or anything....

there's a difference between railroading and storytelling. The only thing you need to make certain is the setting. The stability of the main quest is one thing, but the Guilds? The sidequests even?Frost Mage wrote:You can't create lore if nothing is certain, swordsister.

You'd prefer if they made absolutely no references to past game events?swordsister wrote:Speking of TES games in general, where all the guild questlines endings being canon. I hate it. It feels like i'm living in someone else's past and have no control or anything....

Things I hate about Skyrim? All the bugs. A bit vague, I know, but come on Bethesda, there's over 15,000 beta testers right here....

I think they meant Canon as being done by the main hero specifically, not necessarily that the questlines end results never happened.legoless wrote:You'd prefer if they made absolutely no references to past game events?swordsister wrote:Speking of TES games in general, where all the guild questlines endings being canon. Re: Things you hate about skyrim
I like to think that the master of many guilds is not one person, but a band of allies. The leader keeps order and is the hero, the rest are bound by a similar force. Then again our character has the will to make his own destiney and do the impossible, but too many things seem to conflict, so multiple people fix this issue. That or our hero has a major case of multiple personalities

I hate how random vampires attack in the city and kill important npcs who give quests. I guess its part of game but it messes up stuff. Oh and I dislike how after joining a guild the end always is that u become the boss. It feels like I am the ultimate hero and it feels unrealistic. Yea I am dragonborn but that doesn't mean I should be the boss of theieves guild or archemage

I hate how dawnbreaker is the only unique looking weapon, most of the others look like ancient nord swords..

Re: Things you hate about skyrim
One thing I really hate is how quest-related objects are spawned before their particular quests are even activated. In an open-world game where exploration and role-playing are encouraged, it becomes annoying to have your Inventory cluttered with un-droppable objects that belong to quests you might have no intention of pursuing to begin with.

Re: Things you hate about skyrim
This is going to be slightly controversial for some, but I want a challenge. I've created a character that's damn good, and I'm still improving him, but it's now getting almost impossible because everything's now easy. The difficulty slider's at max, and yet I can afford to not bother with armour, or use weapons for their novelty value rather than their power. I keep hoping that DLC will help with this, and it does for a while, but it's all to soon over again and just another conquered land.

The game already has a few super charged enemies. If you make the most powerful weapons, if you grab the most powerful armor, and if you make the most powerful character, you only have yourself to blame.

Re: Things you hate about skyrim
Interesting... It's the complete opposite for me. I'm annoyed that objects are magically spawned after a quest has been started. Did those things materialize out of thin air all of a sudden, just because I spoke to someone?Evil-i wrote:One thing I really hate is how quest-related objects are spawned before their particular quests are even activated. I agree with it being annoying that those quest items can't be dropped, though. But I guess if that was possible, like it was in Morrowind, the gamers of today would complain "Damn it, I can't do this stupid quest anymore because I dropped/sold this peculiar item. Damn you, Bethesda!" Oh well, and I guess they are right. Can't expect someone to suffer the consequences for their actions. That's why we have undroppable quest items, immortal NPCs, options that lead to the same outcome in most cases, etc...

Re: Things you hate about skyrim
Being unable to refuse to do something in some quests. Such as Molag's quest and the forced COW. After a while, the quest log ends up being cluttered. And it becomes an annoyance to use and some quests are not suitable for roleplayers. Speaking of the quest log, it looks modern! It shouldn't be modern. What was wrong with Oblivion's journal? That was excellent and actually helped to immerse the player.
Dragons. I don't hate them but they are a disappoitment. After a certain level, they become routine. Dodge this, whack it a few times, in fact that applies to every enemy in Skyrim so this is probably not a valid thing.
The lacklustre battle with Alduin. Seriously, we are the Dovahkiin that is destined to banish Alduin back to Akatosh. Instead we can virutally do nothing and let the 4 nordic heroes do all of the work. Why couldn't they have died in the battle and Alduin be challenging or the hardest enemy in the game. He is only the goddam world eater and invincible untill you have a certain shout.
The short guild questlines and the lack of roleplaying options when you reach the top. This doesn't apply to all of the guilds but some were very short and a bit naff. The COW ended when it felt like it started to take off. The Companions felt rushed. The bards college is not even a proper guild as you are just an errand boy. In fact, it seems that the only guilds that are said to be excellent are the evil ones. I agree that the DB is one of the best guilds in Skyrim. By Talos! Bethesda are evil murdering thieving manics!
The removal of spell creation. The reason for it is pure bullsh*t as we can break the game in many ways. Oblivion's wasn't perfect but it just needed a few tweaks.

Re: Things you hate about skyrim
Dumbing down sums it up pretty accurately. Luckily there are few things I haven't been able to fix by modding or I wouldn't be playing this game.
* Interface was made for console users only! I almost forgot about this because I installed SkyUI after only playing about two hours. I also had to get a mod for more keybinds but it's still pretty bad.
* Level scaling enemies. This messes up so much. Mostly it forces me to put all perk points in combat skills just to stay alive (I play on expert diff.). Wolves becoming extinct etc. What's the point of leveling up if it makes me become weaker than my opponents?
* Level scaling loot and vendors. What's the point of exploring when I will find the same items everywhere? Gold becomes pretty pointless too. When I reached the level where I'm allowed to purchase a home I already have four times the gold I need and then there is absolutely nothing more worth buying besides a few spell tomes.
* Lack of a journal and that silly map marker feature. Give me information by text and let me find my own way! I can handle it!
* Linear dungeons. That's just dumb and boring. I always know what to expect.
* Boring spells and no spell making. The same goes for enchanting.
* Invulnerable NPCs.
* Kill moves and blood spatter. So fudging annoying! Mods fixed these easily though or I would have had seizures.
The list goes on and on but the rest are "minor" issues that I could live with.

1. Ranks. I really hate that in all the guilds there are no more ranks assigned as and when we clear missions
2. Can't soul trap summons. This just sucks.
3. Boring story line in Companions and College of Winterhold
4. Cities. Should have had more houses in cities.
5. Missing spells. Such as open locks and cure diseases.
