Your favourite spot in skyrim?
If u could pick one spot as your favourite. what would it be? it could be anything, a house a fort a cave or even some spot in open ground.
like maybe near a ruin or a waterfall or a small islet in the rivers or the sea.
maybe a warm fire place in whiterun streets. or a cold mountain peak? Or a scary swamp near morthal? which is the one place where you really like your character to be?

Inside of the Eldergleam sanctuary, that giant tree, butterflies, steam and streams, it is amazing.

Re: Your favourite spot in skyrim?
Honestly, there are so many great locations in Skyrim that it's impossible for me to cough up one "favourite" spot. It seems like no matter where I go, where I am is just wonderful, and the voyage to get there was wonderful too.
Yeah, I know, it's a non-committal cop-out of an answer, but I'm not good with favourites, no matter what the topic.

Not a specific location, but near Falkreath hold there are two waterfalls that end up joining together and create a rapid river. Hundreds of feet above the lake, an overturned tree fell across the two waterfalls and made a natural bridge. The view is great from there.

Re: Your favourite spot in skyrim?
I don't think I've found that location, but it reminds me of a similar one near Hillgrund's Tomb, where a Bandit blocks the path across a fallen log, and there's a decent respawning Loot chest nearby.

Behind the white river waterfall, jes west of dark shade and east of valtheim... There's a platform behind the base of the falls... If we only had a bed roll, it would be a nice spot to escape the evil of skyrim... Check it out...

Re: Your favourite spot in skyrim?
Riverwood has got to be one of my favorite places, I also enjoy wandering around Whiterun.
For me it is just any spot that is green, sunny, and friendly.

It's hard to pick, but up ther among my favorites is the Temple where you fight <big bad spoiler boss> of the dawnguard chain. It has that huge vantage point overlooking the ENTIRE area you just ran through. I just love looking over places like that. Another that stretch of land between Helgen and Riverwood after that I can't properly put them in order but there;s a lot.

- The Bannered Mare; I've got a lot of good memories there. It just seems like a nice, welcoming, cozy inn.
- As Evil-i said, the tree bridge by Hillgrund's Tomb. Heck, the whole journey from there to Ivarstead if you keep following the path across the tree-bridge is pretty amazing. I took that route on my way to High Hrothgar (and Ivarstead) for the first time. It was one of the first places I went in the game, as I did the first few quests in the main questline before anything else, and I just remember being wowed by the scenery and great views.

Ya its difficult to pick just one place.
Right now my favourite spot is a tiny islet near golden glow estate. I have placed my instant fortress there. Superb sunrise scenes

I really dig the mini garden in the arch mages room... It'd be pretty cool to fall asleep to that night after night in RL

Re: Your favourite spot in skyrim?
Or course as soon as I post this I'll probably have another "favorite" spot, but right now the one place that comes to mind is the small, unmarked camp near Ivarstead. I HIGHLY recommend you seek it out, as this is, as far as I can tell, the only location in Skyrim where you can find an NPC laying down in the water, as well as a few sitting on a ledge that is underwater. I just love how it's set up so realistically, NPCs bathing in the hot springs, their boots and shoes put out to dry near the campfire, it's beautiful.

Re: Your favourite spot in skyrim?
That was kinda creepy. I tried to loot them.
Probably because one of the first places I ever found in the game was the Talos shrine by the lake where everyone was slaughtered by the Thalmor.

Just about anywhere that isn't frozen. But I guess my favorite area is Falkreath Hold up through the plains west of Whiterun. The Rift isn't too shabby either. I also really like standing on top of a waterfall or cliff at night with the moons up and the Northern Lights dancing. Just amazing how far video gaming has come. I mean, when my wife walks by the TV and stops to say "wow! That is really cool!", you know we're on to something.

Either Dayspring canyon or Ancestor Glade. The canyon you walk through to get to my favorite building fort dawnguard is just beutiful. The huge ice covered waterfall is just sweets for your sight. Ancestor Glade is also a great place to visit. Such a cool detail when the Ancestor moths follow you through the cave.

Re: Your favourite spot in skyrim?
I think he's referring to the nudist Hunters enjoying the hot springs near Eldergleam Sanctuary. (Just slightly West of it, if I remember my map correctly.) And he's right, I think that's the only place in the game where an NPC will do a "lie-down-with-feet-crossed-and-hands-clasped-behind-the-head" animation. I'm convinced this location and its NPCs were meant to be a part of some quest which never made the final cut, or that it's an Easter Egg which nobody has cracked yet. It would be hard to justify the inclusion of unique animation for something that otherwise amounts to not much of anything.copykakashi wrote:I should check out this one. The balcony of Sky Heaven Temple. Its view is simply amazing and makes me wonder how the temple was before it was in ruins...

Re: Your favourite spot in skyrim?
There is a spot just northwest of Dragontooth Crater, standing on the mountain top where Solitude is visible to the north. I love climbing that mountain and just taking in the view. Epic Skyrim music has a lot to do with it, of course.
I love my Lakeview Manor home and the area surrounding it, all the way to Falkreath. If I could magically transport myself somewhere, that would be it. Possibly, The Rift as well. Would love to see it in Springtime.
Honorable mention- Winstad Manor. I love to start at my fishery and sneak towards solitude, Dragon Bow at the ready. The whole swamp feel, the fog, the music, makes me feel like I am a one man army, storming the city. This is really the only time I play in third-person view. Just awesome.
