"Is there anything we can do for her? Or is it too late?" asked Airmed wondering if they could help the ghoul.

"I don't think she'll become a Grey Warden." Landon looked at the woman's face, "She's not a fighter."

Sertin drew her dagger, she could grant this woman a merciful death, stop her suffering. She approached Hespith, dagger hidden from no one.

[Hissien]

Nareniel agreed with what Sertin was doing and made no move to stop her. "Poor thing has lost her mind I think..." He said to the others.

Landon shook his head, "She might know where Branka is; we can't risk it."

[Unionhack]

"Sertin, wait." Arathir said, holding his arm out. "Not yet..."

"Branka?" Hespith said, her eyes widening. "She is not with us... She became obsessed, that is the word but it is not strong enough. Blessed Stone, there was nothing left in her but the Anvil."

Oghren approached, impatient. "But where is she? Is she still alive?"

Hespith looked at him in the eyes. "I was her captain, and I did not stop her. Her lover, and I could not turn her. Forgive her... but no, she cannot be forgiven. Not for what she did. Not for what she has become."

Sertin looked at Arathir. Now? was the question in her eyes.

[Unionhack]

"You will find her deeper in the tunnels... but she is not what you seek anymore... Branka, my love..." Hespith said before darting away.

Arathir reached for her out of futility. "Oghren? I assume you didn't know about Branka's lover in the dark."

Oghren looked at him. "Of course I didn't, you sodding idiot! Ugh... Let's just get out of here and find her."

Further in the cave, odd, inhuman sounds could be heard.

Sertin frowned, and chased after Hespith, she was going to suffer no more.

"Sertin, wait!" Arathir yelled, running after. "Damn it, this place is swarming with Darkspawn, you'll be slaughtered!"

Sertin smiled, she can handle herself.

[Kerr]

"Fool." muttered Airmed. "Let's keep going, but be cautious." She continued on at normal pace.

The noises of inhuman squeals and shrieks got louder. As Sertin crossed around a corner, she came face to face with the most revolting sight she had ever seen.

A large creature sat in the middle of the room and seemed to be grafted to the wall of the cavern. Around her, tentacles sprawled and slithered around, seeming to react to Sertin's presence. The Broodmother let out a high-pitched roar and willed her tentacles top go after Sertin.

Sertin swore silently and ran away. [&@%!]. [&@%!]. [&@%!]!

Sertin was slammed in the chest by a tentacle, sending her back further into the room.

Sertin drew her daggers and slashed at the tentacle, planning on stabbing it so much it hurts!

The tentacle was easily sliced and blood spilled upon the ground as the growth fell to the ground. The downed tentacle retreated back into the ground, and another one rose up from the ground to take its place.

Landon ran up ahead. Nobody should be left to travel alone in the Deep Roads.

Sertin slashed at the other one too, stepping back as she did.

Arathir, Oghren, and Zevran all yelled a unanimous battle cry as they charged into the room housing the broodmother. Together they assisted Sertin with the tentacles, chopping them and sending flesh all around the room. No matter how many they cut down, a new one seemed to take its' place.

"We've got to get the big one!" Arathir shouted, turning his attention to the Broodmother.

Sertin looked at Arathir with an look that stated clearly. "Are you serious?"

[Hissien]

Nareniel called down a curse of mortality on the beast, the red runes etching her skin. He followed with ball of lightning.

Undaunted, Roanor charged the Broodmother.

Brennis raised his staff in the air, healing Sertin. He recoiled at the stench from the Broodmother, and tried to think of what to do next.

The broodmother seemed rather unaffected by the curse of mortality, the periodic sparks of pain doing little against her.

Arathir was swept up and grabbed by a tentacle, as was Sertin and Oghren. Struggling, Arathir attempted to get his arms free, while Oghren entered his trademark berserker rage. The dwarf began to try to muscle his way out of the tentacle's grasp, his strength causing the tentacle to split slightly.

Landon put as much squeezing force on the broodmother as he could, in an attempt to make it drop the others.
