Re: Bethesda Patch Discussion - Console and PC
I think that the feature would make more sense if classes were still implemented. Allowing you to only "prestige" your major skills.

Re: Bethesda Patch Discussion - Console and PC
I think this feature would make more sense if they just implemented it from the beginning, and role players could stick to their build and action players can make JOATS or MOATS. Or they just kept their original goal of not allowing a true MOAT with all perks. That way they wouldn't waste time on this stuff post release.
Re: Bethesda Patch Discussion - Console and PC
It's no more pointless than refusing to train the skills to begin with.Xarnac the Conqueror wrote:And having perks you can't use and don't use is pointless, hence my original point this whole time. This feature was made for the person that wants all perks, not for the role player that doesnt need anymore.Yaije wrote:Having all the perks =! mastery as you need the mastery first to be able to use the perks.
but this discussion is just oging to go around in circles as you're going to remain hung up on being able to get extra perks = MOAT

Refuse to train what skill, or are you referring to self limitation and role playing? Having perks you're not going to use is pointless, no?Yaije wrote:It's no more pointless than refusing to train the skills to begin with.Xarnac the Conqueror wrote:And having perks you can't use and don't use is pointless, hence my original point this whole time. Re: Bethesda Patch Discussion - Console and PC
All in all the new system put forth by this patch appears to allow even someone ONLY training light armor and one handed to eventually reach level 80+. This is why I can't say it's ONLY about the added perks, and therefore MORE useful than mounted combat.

Re: Bethesda Patch Discussion - Console and PC
Level means nothing, just more perks and health/magicka/stamina (the latter of which can be accomplished in many other ways).
As to it being more useful than mounted combat, yeah right. A whole new combat skill/style (last seen in Daggerfall) as well as a mechanic that allows new builds and play styles, compared to the ability to get all perks and raise your H/M/S, allowing one new build (for console players, since PC could do all this with console commands), the MOAT.

Re: Bethesda Patch Discussion - Console and PC
speaking as one who has logged all of 5 minutes mounted.. yes it is much more useful to not need to find another way to increase health/majicka/stamina

Re: Bethesda Patch Discussion - Console and PC
I rest my case. One is a mechanic tantamount to a skill just without perks, the other is a way to turn your JOAT into a MOAT.Yaije wrote:speaking as one who has logged all of 5 minutes mounted..
That's like saying this feature is more important than archery because I don't use archery.
Re: Bethesda Patch Discussion - Console and PC
think on that when you're in one of the many locations where mounts aren't allowed... like indoors.

Re: Bethesda Patch Discussion - Console and PC
You can play or role play this game the whole time outdoors, if you wanted. Nor do you use everyone of your (actual) skills at all times either. So I don't see what you are pointing out.Yaije wrote:think on that when you're in one of the many locations where mounts aren't allowed... like indoors.
When a knight dismounts, he fights on the ground. When an Alik'r steppe archer dismounts, he shoots on foot.

Re: Bethesda Patch Discussion - Console and PC
Ok Xarnac. You don't like the new patch. We get it. Enough of this going in circles, accusing everyone else of not being real RP'ers or whatever.
That goes for everyone else too. This particular "discussion" is over. Move on, and let it go.
Musicman has already warned you all to stay civil, now I am warning you all to discuss this properly, and not just go in circles/repeat yourselves 40 goddam times. To be honest, you're doing my head in. Stop it.

1.10 and so on (1.11, 1.12, etc.) is quite conceivable, so this doesn't necessarily mean the end of Skyrim updates.Frost Mage wrote:Oh god I had completely forgot about the DLC files. That will be great. Question though... will this be the last update? What comes after 1.9?

Re: Bethesda Patch Discussion - Console and PC
Does anyone know whether the new patch fixes any bugs in Dawnguard? I've recently gone back to my character that has Serana as a follower, and she has a number of notorious bugs.

Nothing to do with Dawnguard listed in the patch notes...

Re: Bethesda Patch Discussion - Console and PC
These changes to the cap allow players to take their characters into the next DLC(s) and still experience some personal development.
The next DLC may be huge and wouldnt it suck just a little knowing your PC growth is stuck in the mud?
I like that Bethy keeps adding stuff. Being almost exclusively a console player to this point, I've never experienced such love from a video game company.
...if they could only add a skill tree or two like they did with Dawnguard.

I know, I'm just saying it's funny with the whole "oh Beth sucks. We're boycotting. Blah blah blah.." All the whining yet Dragonborn is number 2, HF 4 and DG 5. It's just funny to me.

Re: Bethesda Patch Discussion - Console and PC
It's because people love to complain and say that they won't buy something that they don't even have the option to buy because their console was set up to be an innovative little snowflake that no one knows how to develop for. But that's another topic entirely.

Personally, I don't quite understand this Skill/Perk resetting thing, but I am thankful for the "Patch" side of things. We need a lot more of this palliative engineering from Bethesda.

The thing with the diseases reappearing is supposed to have been fixed by the latest beta patch, from the 7th.

Yeah, I haven't had that happen since. Fortunately.
That was getting a little annoying.
