Just got all patched up for 360. I know there have been changes to underwater graphics, and changes to killcams, but have any of the patches massaged other basic graphics as well? I ask because there are times now that things seem a bit crisper, brighter, better-textured or more colourful, but I really can't say for sure. It might just be wishful thinking.

I know that feeling, and so I finally stopped moaning (which I'm pretty good at  ) and did something about it.
I gave up on PS3 Skyrim last night and picked up a 250gb Xbox bundle that came with Skyrim (download version).

I love my PS3 and won't part with it, but I've finally accepted the fact that Skyrim will never be right for it,
and so I used my PS3 copy of Skyrim as a trade in for some in-store credit to knock $13 off the price of my Xbox.
It's a better use for it than it just sitting on a shelf collecting dust and taunting me.

Hopefully, I can now start to enjoy the game as it was meant to be, and get the benefit of finally getting to play the DLC,
and receiving patches when they get released, and not b.s. lines about why I'll have to wait months for them.

What I chose to do isn't the cheapest solution, and most definitely won't be ideal for everyone,
but it seems to be the best way to solve the PS3 Skyrim woes!

They reason they do such things is to increase sales on the other platform, so no, you kind of made it worse for the rest of us. It's okay though, I forgive you. Other places on the net would rip you apart though.

I appreciate the leniency  , and I understand what you're saying, and why they do it,
but I'm just really sick of my preferred system getting the bone from game makers, and having my only option of recourse being that I complain and plead to deaf ears.

I've stayed loyal to Sony since PS1, and until now, nothing could have made me buy an Xbox.
The sheer lack of communication from Bethesda on updates, and the complete slap in the face of a broken PS3 version was enough though.
Had I not been such a fan of the series, I'd have just let it go at selling my PS3 copy of the game, but I just can't get part way through an ES game and not see it finished.

Honestly, after an afternoon of trouble free Skrim with DLC's, I don't regret it at all.
Now I get to have my PS3, and enjoy Skyrim.

I truly wish my PS3 brethren the best of luck in their wait for patches, and DLC.
After the hell you've endured with this game so far, you deserve some good news.
Hopefully Sony wakes up and sees what they have to do to compete with M$ to keep it's base happy and loyal.

If you're a serious gamer, you shouldn't be gaming on a console. Skyrim is a fine example.

Not trying to start a system war, but list of games not released on PC includes:
-Red Dead Redemption
-Journey
-Infamous
-Pretty much every main Nintendo game including Mario, LoZ, Metroid, Pokemon, etc
-Demons Souls
-Little Big Planet
-All the other great PS3, 360 and Wii U exclusives

So no, to be a "serious" gamer you do not have to be a PC, you can be on a console. Not everyone has the money for a PC, and some people prefer console constrollers to a keyboard and mouse.

Just to keep this post on topic, has the new patch been released for PS3 yet? Seeing as we need it for Dragonborn things are not looking good.

Seriously guys? How often do we have to point out that the console vs PC argument never gets anywhere? So just stay on-topic.

I'm not sure I really understand how that's going to work. You basically lose all your hard work just so you can continue leveling up? I mean, I guess that's nice for people who don't want to max out pointless skills for their character (destruction on a warrior type, archery on a mage, etc), but... It seems like I'd have to stop using Auto Perk Stats Level to actually get any use out of this.

I kinda wish they'd done the legendary skill thing a while ago. After Hearthfire came out and I did a ton of smithing to make nails and stuff, I wished I had spent my Smithing training money (I probably paid for at least 20 Smithing levels, I wanted to get to 100 so bad) on other training instead because I would have leveled Smithing quite a bit when making the houses. At least if I could have made my Smithing "legendary" I would have felt like I was still working toward something and that my earlier effort wasn't wasted. At this point I have almost nothing left to do on my character, so I'm probably not going to use that now.

Anyway, probably the most notable thing on the list for some people:
• Placing an unread Oghma Infinium on a bookshelf in the player’s house no longer allows the book to be reused again
So that means they're getting rid of the Oghma glitch.

My favorite ones:
• Reduce percentage chance of getting a werewolf loading screen while player is a werewolf (THANK YOU. I get the Werewolf screen more than half the time; it's really annoying.)
• Fixed rare instance of couriers who would appear only dressed in a hat (This reminds me of some hilarious update notes for The Sims.)

Took them long enough! I think that's the only loading screen Anika was getting towards the end unless she was on Solstheim. It's like... "I'm level 50, for crying out loud! I think I know by now I don't get resting bonuses as a werewolf!"

Yeah, I don't quite get it. It seem rather pointless to me, but that's just my opinion. Why the heck would I want to reset my skills just to continue leveling up? To be honest, I'd rather continue power-leveling my other skills that aren't frequently used. At least then I wouldn't lose the progress in the ones that I do use.

Power-leveling skills once is enough, thank you very much. I'm not going to do it more than once for the same skill.

I'm also rather miffed about the patching of the Oghma Infinium bug. Now I'm really going to have to relocate the Scroll of Perfection if I want to get my skills to 100 quickly.

Legendary Difficulty sounds... Interesting. My characters are powerful enough that they hardly take any damage at all on Master, so I wonder what Legendary will be like for them? I wonder what sort of effect that would have on mods like Deadly Dragons?

I'm also rather interested in whether or not the bug causing the game to crash while attempting to save during Waking Nightmare is truly fixed. That's been bugging me for a long while. Don't really care so much about the other fixes (though I'll be sad to see the naked courier go, he was a good source of laughs).

One thing's for certain though: I'm not going to be downloading this update until all my mods have been updated for it. I don't want to mess up my only character. I think it's mainly SKSE that will need the update, but I'm waiting a while anyway.

Oh god I had completely forgot about the DLC files. That will be great. Question though... will this be the last update? What comes after 1.9?

There's already a thread for the patches, up at the top. Probably best to discuss it there.

make sure to start a new thread if there are dlc patch files please.
i usually check uesp forums every other day for stuff like that, by scrolling through the threads, so that would be helpful.

I'm pretty excited for this patch as it fixes some really annoying bugged quest items that I would like to get rid of on Xbox. =) Still waiting on a fix for the College quest where you have to find certain books for the Orc. I've had a bugged book in my inventory since near the start of the game. I'm sure they'll get around to it eventually when they figure out what's wrong. Oh, they DID fix it! I totally skipped over that bullet point when looking at the list! Awesome!!! =)

Aye, that'd be it. I went and found it earlier and resubscribed to get the mod again. I'm not sure why I removed it in the first place. That was one of the mods I used most.

What bug caused Lucan to get 10k gold?
I've modded all merchants in my game to have 10k gold so I honestly wouldn't know.
And I only did that so I could actually sell all my loot, and those blasted potions I make that can sell for 1k or more each.

Yes. Very much yes. That was so annoying, I had the map and eyes of the Falmer in my house for so long, I can finally complete my collection.
