If you had the devs ear

Post by sevenindasun »

And you could add a build, skill, perk, for instance...

I think they should add thalmor of falmar to the race selections...
I miss the athletic skill so that could be added
Or add a perk under the light armor for athletics to boost jumping ability speed
Maybe under one handed to affect melee speed,
How bout an intelligence skill tree, affects how fast you learn another skill or how many points you gain from reading skill books..
Lots of options there...
Your thoughts?
Oh I forgot levitation

Thalmor's not a race, it's a political affiliation for high elves.

Sometimes I turn off clipping and pretend I have levitation...

The Falmer are a race past their former glory. They are blind and are the corrupted versions of the Snow Elves. The Snow Elves are believed to be extinct so it would be hard to believe that they are a playable race as it would contradict the law a bit. In fact, there is only one left during the year 201. The thalmor are not a race. They are the Thalmor's eyes and ears as well as enforcing the terms of the treaty.

The thalmor should have been a faction that you can join, only if you are an elf due to their racist views. In fact, if you are elf, you can avoid annoying them and approach them for help with the dragons. But this will cause you to sell out the last two blades.

A lot and i mean a lot of spells. Such as the unlock and feather spells. If i'm a mage, i should not have to level up lockpicking due to it being the only way to open locked locks if you don't have the key.

A more dynamic weather system. A hardcore mood. This would cause you to suffer if you are hungry or thirsty. Your version may start to suffer or you have less stamina. You are affected by the weather. Such as taking a dip in the sea of ghosts will cause you to become very cold which will affect you and can catch Hypothemia. Nords have a high tolerance to it. Weapons have to be repaired, same with armour. Clothes don't. You can only carry what you can fit on your back and in your pack. You can buy bigger packs or enchant your current one to increase it's size.

People buy stuff thus the merchants inventories are always changing. Dragons are the most challenging creatures in the game. More unique weapons. No leveled enemies. If i go into a dragon priest lair at level 2, i should be forced to retreat. The ability to delete quests from your journal via refusing to do it or just cancelling the quest.

Good ideas dov, sry bout the race mix up I don't read much into lore so I was unaware that thalmar were not a race of elves I assumed the falmar were at once a dominant elven race, and not always corrupt... It was jes an example... As in fallout I wish you could be a goul without mods same in skyrim falmar are one of my fav's although annoying at times it would be cool to have them as an option, maybe a quest line for future dlc the last great falmar wizard bent on restoring his place in time... And now I think about it the thalmar are high elves... Anyways I like the backpack idea lots...
What about a spriggin race, command of wildlife, drain speed spells, ability to regen health and stamina as a power...

Spriggans are creatures. It won't really be that much fun playing as a spriggan due to the nature of it and tend to protect their own areas. Falmer don't have wizards. If you mean Snow Elves, i think trying to return would be a bit of a let down for the final DLC due to Dragonborn already doing that story, only, the Dragonborn is trying return. The very first one.

We do have a DLC ideas thread somewhere but i think it's been inactive for more then a month and Avron the Swit may use their Thu'um against you if you preform some nercomancy on it. ;)

I stand corrected but i suspect the falmer wizards are not that smart and are more interested in kill anyone who ventures into their lair as well as serving their tribe.

Jes spinning wheels here, I was creating a new build and was thinking about new races, was looking and bare with me since I don't read books but it has Brenton Nords and imperials but is imperials jes Nords or Brenton's I mean is that even a race or a religion so to speak... I can't remember from TES IV I knew imperials were a class but are they really a race...?

Imperials are a race. We do have a races section here on the Wiki under the lore section. I tend to spend a few hours sometimes looking at the lore and accidentally losing track of time. Pilaf is our lore experts.

The races of TES are split into 3 groups. Man,Elf and Beast.

Redguards,bretons,Imperials,Nords are the human races.

Altmer(high elves), Dunmer(dark Elves), Bosmer(Wood Elves) and Orsimer(Orcs) are the elven races but it is debateable whether the Orcs are an elven race or a beast race. Orcs were corrupted by a Daedric prince and are sometimes regarded as Beasts.
The beast races are the Argonians(the lizards) and the Khajiti(the cat people). Those are the playable races in every TES game so far.

Dwemer were an Elven Race but disappeared during the 1st Era. It is unknown what actually happened to them and is one of TES's biggest mysteries. The Snow Elves were corrupted by the Dwemer in order for them to become slaves when they approached the Dwarves for protection due to the Nords wiping the floor with them.

The Akaviri are known but there is only a small amount of known lore regarding them and we have yet to see their true forms. There are plenty of extinct races in TES. Anyway, before i get shouted at by an Imperial Guard who has appeard out of nowhere, i mean get told off by a mod for taking the thread off topic. I had better end it here. Feel free to create a thread about the races if you want to know more as i suspect we can provide a lot more indepth information then the race pages on here. I'm off to hide my sweetroll as i can see Avron the Swit staring at it. They won't be stealing it!

Add spears - I mean _proper_ spears, that are carried in the hand/slung over the shoulder when travelling, and either thrusted or thrown with one hand when used in combat (shooting spears with bows?? WTF???)

I always thought an entirely new game set in Akavir with an entirely new set of races might be fun. It could draw from Asian history and mythology instead of the European stuff you see in most fantasy games.

There are also races of ape men and slug men that we've never seen and heard very little about. Not sure how much fun a slug person would be to play as...

That would be awesome if TES VI is set in a entirely new age, Asian lore and history runs deep with mythical creatures and magic.. I'm not tired of TES's approach but I wouldn't be against changing the scenery... I've actually discussed in depth for hours with my friends and my son about a space age TES traveling from planet to planet but I know that's too far fetched

i like the idea of an intelligence skill tree - it would need a bit of rearranging but you might get your level up point spent in health/ stealth/ might/ cleverness type trees or something, an extra layer of customisation for characters.. i cant help thinking losing attributes has left us a bit short somehow

i have to say that now i've travelled up and down the length of Skyrim, i am a bit disappointed no one invented slowfall.. imagine floating off the throat of the world or as a vampire, descending upon your prey from a rooftop.. Climbing as well would be welcome - it would really make thieves a formidable and exciting class to play around with

if i had the devs ear i would give it a good slap every hour until they implemented first person view for monster mode

and spears of course. Horses will never make sense for me until i can joust

Yea I like having freedom in TES but I wouldn't object to having skill trees for the build, like might having heavy armor stealth having light armor and intelligence having the mages armor perk... But the freedom to be a jack is nice. TES is slowly getting it right but next drop should force a path.. If ur a Mage/battle Mage you follow that path, champions/spellswords, assassins/shadow thieves... Each class build has certain perks, a battle Mage should not be able to wield a hammer and a spellsword should not have access to master level spells and so on...

Bring back Spell Creation.

I'd probably go John Q. or Rupert Pupkin over such a mechanic.

Why should a path be forced on the player?

It's one of the good things about Skyrim that you aren't confined to a specific way of doing things, and literally any playstyle is viable, from a robe wearing warrior relying on the mage armour spells, to a heavy armour wearing assasin or pure mage, to a complete pacifist whose only kills are Alduin, Harkon and Miraak...

I would have them add an 'athletics' skill for stealth, to increase movement abilities for a playstyle devoted to mobility and efficiency would be great.
I wish we could have climbing, with all the mountains, it makes too much sense to just have to put away your weapons so you ascend things. It's just as simple as letting us move up things within a certain angle, no special actions beyond sheathing.
Stolen stuff just doesn't have to sold to fences, it's annoying that merchants don't know it's stolen, yet they won't accept it.
Add a lot more compatibility with magic and stealth, it sucks that you can't use direct spells while sneaking, or that magical effects don't get a bonus.
HAVE VENDORS SELL BOLTS, ETC.

I'll think of more...

Touch spells back. Gray fox/cowl back. Open spells. Silver weapons back. Mithril back. Just lots of things taken from oblivion.

Bringing back acrobatics would be cool and they could add more stuff than just jumping like rolls maybe even include dodging.

And the same as above open spells for mages.

Including parrying was an idea that I have been thinking about for a while too. It could be added to the block skill or as perks to one-handed/two-handed skills. Maybe it could also be the same as in Daggerfall( I think parrying is in there).

More marriage options. Why does my khajiit have to be single or have an interspecies marriage?

“Gods!” hollered Zaki, sending the young man flying with a well-placed punch, and dashing away.

I like this, to better block with weapons instead of shields sounds ideal. I also like the rolls and dodges, it could help the lacking combat skills of the assassin.

If I had the dev's ear...I'd eat it to learn its properties and slightly raise my alchemy skill.

Yah, but seriously. I'd love to see some of the removed features from earlier games back; I really miss, for example, not just being able to levitate but being able to cast levitate on an enemy and watch them rise, yelling and kicking impotently and still trying to swipe at me with their weapon, into the air, before the spell wore off and they plummeted to the ground. That was sweet.

And though it sounds petty, I miss the beautiful rich midnight blue of mithril armor and weapons as they were in Daggerfall.

They say the levitation would break the load zones for walled cities kinda like the whiterun jump wall exploit but there are ways they can keep that from happening thru programming and borders....

What I'd like most of all is open cities and levitation/flight. I'm fully aware that its not possible to patch that in without redesigning half the game.
So yeah... let's call it my biggest wish for the next TES game.
