1. I miss classes, I enjoyed the feeling of needing to choose what you wanted to be, and getting large boosts into these things early on, also making it less viable to do things outside of your class
2. Birthsigns, gave more immersion, more roleplay stuff, and more choices for goodies
3. The water currents are extremely slow, rivers are not nearly dangerous enough.

Still not as cool as the male Dunmer's voice in Morrowind.

You don't want that...
Im looking at you Fable franchise... </3
Yeah fable got too technologically advanced too fast. Tamriel has always been more about magic, Albion less so.
I would not have put in over 100 hours if I actually hated anything about Skyrim. Sure, there are many things I would have done differently and would like to mod if I ever get a pc version. About the only thing that significantly annoys me is the kill cam. Each time I see one of those I frown a little.

Nah. Fable has simply sucked duck farts right from square one.
I dont hate Skyrim, it does a lot of things right, and some things better than previous TES games. And the fact that I'm still playing (taking breaks in between) since release tells me I do very much like the game.
But, I think people who are fans of the TES series can understandably be upset at many of the changes and removal of features, streamlining etc. reading through this thread, I find myself agreeing with much of whats said. I could probably write a short book on what could have been done better, despite loving the game.
Some things I dislike about Skyrim, off the top of my head:
Attributes/skills removal - I liked statistics that differentiated my character. Im not saying it was done right in previous games, you'd be 100 in everything by the end anyway. There should be more than 3 stats and there should be a cap to stop people being 100 everything. I was actually fairly happy with how perks were done - you have to specialise and can't get everything. Its no excuse for stripping stats to health/stamina/mana though. I miss acrobatics too - not the levelling of it, but the differentiation (maybe it should have been done as a perk tree within stealth).
Spellmaking - the single greatest sandbox tool TES had. A way to create player driven content, removed. I don't care if it could be abused. So can enchanting, smithing and alchemy. Other people used this properly, for role playing reasons, and miss it. I also miss many of the removed spells.
NPC interaction - People say the same thing to you every time you walk past them. I find myself not walking near to certain people, so as not to trigger off the same thing they've told me 101 million times. Regardless of what you 'achieve', which guild you join, its always the same. Dialogue - usually quite juvenile, no real options or consequences (opposite of Fallout NV for example). why prompt for a response when theres only 1 real thing you can say? Even if they are 3 things, they aren't choices but 3 linear monologues. Related to this is..
Lack of disposition. Unless Im missing something, people dont have disposition scores any more, your personality stat doesnt exist, so that has no effect on how NPCs perceive you. You cant charm anymore because the spells removed (theres no disposition score to raise, apparently). Sure certain NPCs can have different disposition due to quest and event triggers, but thats not the same thing.
Lack of unique items/items scaled to your level - in terms of incentive for random exploration, this is a major flaw. In Morrowind, I wanted to go in to that ancestral tomb because there was the chance of some cool artefact. In skyrim I find an elven bow if Im low level, or a ebony warhammer if Im high. And whats the point where in the majority of cases I can craft better myself?
Level scaling - done better than oblivion, but still bad.
Journal/UI - journal is woefully under detailed. The least said about the console UI on PC the better, that was the first mod I had to install.
Well for one, I hate how they took out the class system! I loved making my own custom builds and getting super high bonuses at the start of the game... Sigh... I hope they make a mod to bring it back to the way it was in Oblivion where you selected Major skills and what-not.

Couldn't agree less. I miss that Morrowind feeling of 'click here', 'click here too', 'and here'.. bravo, you are a warrior knight on the path to glory and fame! etc. Now basically a Khajit can be a master wizard, an Orc a master thief etc. doesn't make any sense. I'm afraid that with every TES they move further away from the lore part and I hate that because that's what made TES unique.
the delay in animation when switching between weapon and spell, it seems to be getting longer too. it's not the time it takes that bothers me though, it's that it just looks, and sounds, awful, a gaping hole in immersion. please, spend the memory to make it fluid next time.

Here is the thing though, nothing about the lore ever said Khajiit couldn't be master wizards, and Orcs couldn't be master thieves. All of that was just blanketing stereotypes being applied to every member of every race.
It actually makes less sense, and goes against lore more, for Khajiit and Orcs to not be able to be master wizards/thieves.
So where is my dream? It is the continuation of reality. But where is my reality? It is at the end of your dream.
NO SPEARS!!!
For a game that is so obviously based on Norse/Germanic culture and mythology, the lack of spears really is noticeable, it was THE weapon to use among the ordinary warriors in the Viking Era and before (and for that matter, among Roman Legions a 1000 years earlier, as well).
I hate that there is no armor that I really like. Sure the Daedric armor is cool and all, but it is a bit too demoic for me. I personally perfer the very ornate looking armor, like the elven armor from Oblivion. Oh and I hate that Umbra no longer exists. Definitely the most badass weapon ever, especially the lore that went along with that sword, and the fact that two of the three greatest heros in Tamriel (the Nerevarine, and the Champion of Cyrodiil) used it. It would have been cool to have Dragonborn use it since he is the greatest hero ever. At least to me.
Hey this is an A and B conversation, so C yourself out before D hops E and Fs you up!

I totally agree. Skyrim and TES series let's YOU the PLAYER play how YOU like. It's why we all love TES.
Why can't I be an Orc that is a master thief?
Orc father - "What do you want to be when you grow up son?"
Orc son - "A thief"
Orc father - *Scoffs* "Well, that will never work, it's heavy armor and two handed weapons for you lad"
Orc mother - *Hits Orc father in the head with wooden rolling pin* "Junior can be any thing he wants. Why, I'd be just as proud of him to be an Adoring Fan as I would some Brute Warrior Hero"
I don't like how we can't name weapons unless we enchant them, same applies with armor, potions, etc.
We need bolts to be sold by merchants.

There are things that annoy me, there are things I would fix/change/add but there is nothing I hate about this game... The elder scrolls as a whole is by far my favorite thing to do... I still play a character on all 3 console games to this day and find new stuff every day...
