If Tamriel existed, and you lived there, would you worship the Aedra or the Daedra? And more specifically, which Aedra/Daedric Prince would you choose?
I'd personally go for Julianos, being an Aedra worshiper seems to be a fairly easy life and you get some small benefit out of it. Plus, I like books and history so Julianos seems a good choice for me!
I admit there seem to be more benefits to being a Daedra worshiper, but there seems to be more risks too. I'm a wimp and I'd rather avoid trouble .

If I lived in Tamriel I would be one of the few "God Haters". If Tamriel were real and I lived in it, I would worship the Aedra. My personal deity would most likely be Zenithar because he is the god of labor and commerce, how "Zenithar is seen as a warrior god, but one who is restrained and reserved in times of peace.".
It seems there's not much love for the Daedra at the moment . It doesn't surprise me!
I'd also worship the Aedra, mainly because they're less likely to try and kill you because they're bored lol. I like the sound of Dibella, can't go wrong with some erotic instruction .
Daedra. More specifically Azura. She's good, cares about her worshipers, et cetera, et cetera. I'm not a fan of Aedra worship but to each their own. Probably have to keep it secret though, most people hate Daedra worshipers. Wouldn't want to be ran out of town or worse killed. And I don't want to move to the volcanic ash filled wastes of Morrowind.
So we have come to solve every squabble in the village personally? The last thing you never see

STOP RIGHT THERE, CRIMINAL SCUM! Daedra Worship is illegal in the Empire, now pay your fine or it's off to jail!
No it isn't. Daedric Worship is perfectly legal in the empire. Still I doubt guards would care as much about a local coven of peaceful daedric worshipers being wiped out as they would about a chapel of the divines.

Hmmm... I think that, either way, I like the gods that are more balanced as far as their anuic and padomaic influences go. Gods that can change the world are preferable to ones that don't, as long as they aren't totally bloody evil.
As such, I quite like Kynareth. No-one can say she doesn't change the world. I am also a fan of some of the slightly less evil Princes, such as Azura. (Meridia is technically neither Anuic or Padomaic in origin, but I like her too.)
Aedra, because despite all the huff and fluff it's the Aedra that send the player character into the world. People who say they do nothing don't really pay attention to the story line of the game. The Aedra can not, I repeat, can not come to Nirn directly, that's in the lore, so they send, of all people, you. But still, some players will say they don't care, which confuses me beyond all comprehension "and my capacity to vomit."(that's a reference, not an insult.)

Oblivion... I dare you guys to show one beneficial thing the Daedra have actually done that did not involve saving themselves. Even saving Dunmer during the Red Year was to ensure Azura that she would have worshipers.

Daedra don't really care about their minions. The only ones you could argue that do care are Azura and Malacath, and even then it's debatable.
More Aedra worshippers die than Daedra Worshippers because there's more of them. A daedra is a lot more likely to kill you than an Aedra too, they see you as their property so you're disposable.
EDIT: You may be able to add Sheogorath and Nocturnal to the list of caring Daedra, although I'm not sure. You'd have to ask someone who knows more about the lore than me.
I really do fail to see any good reason to worship the Daedra (remember this question is about you, not your character). Even the "good" Daedra are capricious, jealous and vain, and could make bad things happen to you. The way I see it, the Aedric religion is a pretty easy one to follow, the Aedra don't demand a lot and you get some minor benefits out of it. The Daedric Princes do confer more benefits upon their followers, but the risk seems so ridiculous that it's not worth it, plus (most) of their realms sound pretty nasty, I think I'd prefer just to go to the Dreamsleave than to go to the Deadlands.
Note: I play a Dunmer in-game, so my character is a Daedra worshipper. I don't really have anything against Daedra worship if I'm playing on a game, but if it was a real life I think I'd definitely play it safe.

Azura came to Nirn. She said thank you for setting in the events of ending an Empire and a dynasty, not to mention killing thousands of her own worshipers. She loved me.

What about Azura's quest in Oblivion to kill her insane vampire worshipers and end their suffering? I don't see how she would benefit from having them die instead of staying locked in that cave forever.
Then in Skyrim, Sheogorath is almost like a psychiatrist for the dead.
