About the only thing they have in common is they they stole the identity/power of someone else, but whereas the nation Tharn took over suffered because of his influence, Morrowind prospered and grew into a mightier nation than ever before under the Tribunal. That would have happened even without their divinity, which wasn't really a factor until later struggles against the Akaviri, Nords and Imperials. With Nerevar dead Almalexia would have naturally assumed leadership of the nation, and with Sotha Sil as her teacher and part-time love interest, he would naturally have a lot of power as well. I'd say divinity or no, he's a better leader and a better mage than Tharn. While Tharn was impressive he was no Psijic and no master strategist.all_freed wrote:Sotha Sil always sounded like the guy who was slightly detached from everyone else... Maybe it's because he is the last of House Sotha and feels like a lone wolf. So maybe he never really had much interest in expanding his influence over the world. But if he switched place with Tharn then he might do a lot more damage.

Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.

@Pilaf I share the same thoughts. My previous post is poorly worded; what I meant is if Sotha Sil was evil and assumed Jagar's role, Sotha could do far more damage and might be near impossible to stop. But Sotha Sil doesn't seem like someone who would be that depraved/aggressive.

Sotha Sil in my opinion would win and not resort to misdirection. He was a man of vast knowledge, enough said

He managed to dispel Dagon's physical form after Almalexia was badly wounded. The only other beings known to do that are Akatosh and the Battlespire initiate, so he's in good company.BetaB17 wrote:Sotha Sil in my opinion would win and not resort to misdirection. On the other hand, he's not entirely above misdirection. He impersonated a deity for several dozen centuries after all.
