Downer, when I saw the film, there were some people who brought their kids to see it too. We don't give a s**t about those ratings here.Abel wrote:Went to see Django Unchained. Wasn't allowed in because one of my friends is only 16 in two months.
We went to Zero Dark Thirty instead. Which is 12+ for some reason, eventhough Pakistanis get waterboarded and tortured 50% of the film.
A good movie, but still [&@%!] I couldn't see Django Unchained.

Yes, but I'm looking for more jobs, or better jobs, and just a 2nd job.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
I am having an excellent day. Got a $300 check for the website I made, bought the Morrowind soundtrack, set up some plans with friends, learned that this children's book series I've been a fan of since I was 10 is holding a contest to have a tenth-anniversary guidebook thing dedicated to them (and it's essay-based which is awesome for me), Dragonborn comes out tomorrow, I've just come from a good workout in karate, and it's just been a good day overall. I am just in this state of perfect contentment right now.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
Spent some time playing Skyrim, then got a massive headache and curled up on the couch for a while.
Once that went away, I went to playing Oblivion. Then curled up on the couch again because the headache came back.
Just had to take more Tylenol for it. Bah.
Hopefully it's gone tomorrow because I've got plans.
Anyway, I'm going to bed now. Tired and kinda feeling bleh.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
On the first day of school (thats today
), i go, i sit down, people start leaving until i am the last person in the class.
finally, while sitting about, a cleaning lady comes in and says ''your still here? theres no school today!''
Turns out, there was a teachers strike, they were all standing outside, talking and smoking together
so i wandered about a bit, then got my brother and left in a Taxi.

I'm trying to stay awake till 3am when my brother will arrive, after flying over from Aussie.
Step-Mum is out to the world, so I'm gonna have to fill him in on all the bad news.
Really not looking forward to the next few days...

Just got asked to go substitute a dance lesson today. I've never taught one before, let alone one with a bunch of rowdy misbehaving kids. Nervous!!!!

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
Stay strong, Believe. At least your family will be together and you have each other to draw strength from. Although my grandmother's passing on Sunday was terrible, my parents flew in, my cousin whom I haven't seen in years comes in today, and one of my sisters will hopefully be flying in from out of state as well. Its such a relief having them near and I am sure you will find the same relief with your family. Blessings to you in this tough time.Believe wrote:I'm trying to stay awake till 3am when my brother will arrive, after flying over from Aussie.

I was confronted by a Greenpeace promoter.
And not just any volunteer for the company, the guy actually worked directly for them and was pretty high-up in their ranks. Got an hour-long talk from him, and he eventually guilted me into paying $20 a month to support them.

I did not practice more tenses, words or anything like that today, I practiced pronunciation but spent most of my time looking up the stories and the culture since it seems to me that is just if not more as important.

I watched Prometheus with my younger brother today. That was one crazy movie.

Prometheus kinda confused me. And what happened to the facehuggers? Did they morph into giant star fishes that mouth sex stuff in this movie? And the Promethean, the big bulky alien dude that showed up the humans as part of the scheduled human beatdown, what the hell was he?Avron the S'wit wrote:I watched Prometheus with my younger brother today. Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
Speaking of movies, I watched a movie called The Snowtown Murders today on Netflix. God it was disturbing, but the more I think about it and read other peoples' thoughts on it, the more I come to respect it for what it is... that happens a lot.
"Oh, well that is a good point..."
"I never thought of it that way!"
"I loved that movie."
That's usually how it goes. >_> But still, it deserved more than the 2 1/2 stars that Netflix gave it.

The Promethean was a Promethean... I'm not sure what you mean by "what the hell was he?".

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
I managed to convince Dragonborn to download in only 5 hours earlier, then spent the rest of the day playing it. Only took a break to watch Face Off.
While I was waiting for Dragonborn to download, I did something like 5 Word Searches... Because I really didn't have anything better to do.
Now I'm most certainly going to bed because I feel rather ill right now. I think I might have eaten something that didn't agree with me.

A full on nationwide tsunami warning was issued today, so my drama class turned into an emergency evacuation pretty quickly. Anyway, the "tsunami" never hit, just like the dozen or so other tsunami warnings I've experienced over the past seven years of living in Fiji.
