How can you do this? I created a new pair of shoes (copying all the data from some extravagant shoes) and added an enchantment, but how can I add the inventory image and art file? Without those I cannot place them in the world and they are viewed as a yellow box inside my inventory...
What can I do?!
Inventory image/add art file
Re: Inventory image/add art file
If you have the CS CD, check the Preferences menu and make sure the "Use Data Files on CD-ROM" option is checked. Otherwise you will need to unpack Morrowind.bsa (check the wiki's tool section) and copy the contents to your Morrowind/Data Files folder.
When editing the item, there should be an option regarding its World Model, and another for its Icon. The model will be found in the Morrowind/Data Files/Meshes/c folder, with something resembling the item ID followed by GND (denoting it is the GrouND Mesh). The icon will be in the Morrowind/Data Files/Icons/c folder.
If you copy/paste an item with the CD in (or the files copied), those parts of the item should be automatically filled in as far as I know.
And as a suggestion: I would suggest downloading MWEdit, select open, then check the boxes next to Morrowind, Tribunal, Bloodmoon, and your Mod. Then highlight your Mod and press the "make active" button, then press "Open". Finally, select "View Change" from the View Menu.
This will show only things changed by your mod (you'll need to check all the different subgroups on the left of the screen). If there's something on there that you hadn't intended on changing (such as the Game Settings as was the problem with the file you sent me), click that item on the right section of the screen, then right-click and choose "Clean" to remove the changes from your Mod entirely.
Also, when creating a new mod with the CS, make sure Tribunal and Bloodmoon are included as Master Files even if you don't plan on using them to avoid GMST issues.

Re: Inventory image/add art file
I downloaded bsa, and extracted it into the data files, but I don't understand the instructions! Also, I can't find any images in any of the meshes or icons folders in the bsa thing!

Wait, what?Sunny wrote:I downloaded bsa, and extracted it into the data files, but I don't understand the instructions! Also, I can't find any images in any of the meshes or icons folders in the bsa thing!
If you have Morrowind, you already had the .bsa files - they are in the Data Files folder. If you use the BSA Unpacker utility (which can be located anywhere on your hard drive - it shouldn't really be in your Data Files folder), you'll need to use it to open the .bsa files, then extract all the files inside it into your Data Files folder (it will keep the folder structure it needs).
I generally only copy over files I'm actively using (then delete them later), since the game doesn't need them there to run and they can take up quite a bit of space. But it's easier to just copy everything and leave it be.
The files inside the /meshes or /icons folder will be sorted by item type (though not exactly in the most intuitive way possible). For clothing, they will be in a sub-folder labeled "c".
Note that they aren't traditional image files - they are saved as .nif or .dds files. So don't expect to edit them in MSPaint.

Re: Inventory image/add art file
Okay, Well I'll try that then, but I just recently found the CS cd so I'll try that now.
EDIT= There we go! good thing the cd still worked. Now for morrowind edit thing, thank you for your help once again!
But one more question: once you save the MWedit zipped thing, where do you extract them? Or what do you do next? Sorry I'm terrible when it comes to applying foreign stuff to a PC...

Re: Inventory image/add art file
Firstly, make a folder named MWEdit on your Hard Drive - anywhere works so long as you can find it (I keep mine in a folder labeled "Morrowind Stuff" on the Desktop). Extract the zipped file to this folder.
Next, open up MWEdit. I'm not sure if it can find the original release of the game automatically, but I know I had to show it where the Steam version was saved. Click on View, then Options, and then click browse where it says "game data path". You'll need to hunt down your Morrowind/Data Files folder - look in C:/Program Files first; I'm guessing that's the default install directory.
