Sometimes they do! Hopefully the large-scale PvP will have something similar to WoW where you get some kind of compensating buff if you're badly outnumbered.

I'm a little surprised at how few Dominion votes there have been. I might consider being a Bosmer if they're not too bad as melee warriors.

No the thing is the dominion has a really great variety, the races work nicely as classes go such as khajits being the fearless fighters, bosmer rangers and altmer mages or warriors. There's no reason they should dwindle in numbers it's shocking me. I hope the number difference won't be a mess

Maybe way in the future. According to the story the Imperials will be a major enemy faction. It's not likely they will cease to be enemies until that storyline is done. So maybe in an expansion pack or two. If ESO lasts that long.

I'm torn between the Dominion and the Pact. THe Dominion has the Altmer and Khajiit, but of course the Pact has Dnnmer and Argonians.

I just can't reason why the Nords and the Dunmer would be in one alliance, and all those unlikely friendships.

Coincidentally I do like the Covenant's reasonings the best - all they want to do is restore the prosperity of the Second Empire. I the story they put behind the unlikely alliance of the Pact is pretty good, though, and I can see why they would join together to fight off the Akaviri. But with all the bad history between them, I'm not sure why they remain together. Of course there is also the historical right of the Aldmeri to rule over Tamriel, as they were here first.
I'll eventually make alts in the other alliances as well, as I'd like to see their different stories and explore more of the world.

1) We're looking at an MMO here, which means that racial attributes will be marginal. There will be no 25% magic resistance or 10% better archery for sure. Of course, in many players' minds some races are intrinsicly tied to a role, which will affect class composition within each faction, but Dominion won't have better mages, archers or warriors than Covenant or Pact.

2) Sample size is really small here. If you go over to the larger ESO communities at Tamriel Foundry and TESOF wou will see that the ratio is around 30-33% Dominion, 25% Covenant and 42-45% Pact.
At TESOF it's 343, 306, 510
At TF it's 630, 490, 802

Covenant has been coming on strong since the last cinematic though.

I actually would have been a Dunmer and thus in the Pact, but I know that Dunmer are a fan favorite, and I suspected that there would be too many people flocking to them, so I avoided it like the plague. I do like elves but I think that the Covenant is the most appealing to me, as it has been, and I'm definitely sticking to my Breton idea. I love to see that others are going with the Covenant too!

Like I knos the game involves skill but if the majority is on one team... Idk it's confusing me how they will make this work. In wow the number of horde and alliance are almost equal

I wouldn't use the very minor poll on this thread to indicate which faction most people will join. There are thousands of people who will be playing outside of UESP as well.

I'm sure that things will be equalized somehow, otherwise the game wouldn't be very fun and people would get frustrated. Who knows what the storyline or staff for the MMO will have up their sleeves...

The leading faction is Ebonheart Pact. Covenant is the smallest at this point. The likely event if population numbers stay this way is simply for the smaller factions to gang up on the big one until more players switch sides.
How it will work out in detail nobody knows but I'm sure the guys and gals at ZOS is working on it.

Nope! Alliance outnumbers Horde roughly 2:1. On some servers it's 10:1, on some it's 2:3, but overall Alliance is much more popular. Blizzard have used different measures to help out the smaller faction in instanced PvP but never had a handicap system for world PvP.

I doubt the content in the MMO is based on numbers and quantity of people. That would make it a very unbalanced game which no one likes.

I read at Tamriel Foundry that there will be different instanced versions of Cyrodiil, so there will be a number of different PvP "campaigns" going on. This may help the balancing, but obviously doesn't change the fact of the numbers. But if Pact are winning by sheer numbers in one campaign, Dominion may be winning by skill in another. (I'm not meaning that the hoarde of Pact players are unskilled )

It does not matter how many players are in the pact or covenant because the dominion has the 3 most focused on their skills the altmer mage the bosmer archer and last and least the kaghit warrior and we'll just knock down your forts with giant fireballs anyway what can a breton or nord do.

They..don't exist, at this time.

They do exist, but they are the enemies, working with Mannimarco to keep control of Cyrodiil.
