An amusing experience that I had with the Radiant system determining the location relevant to a quest.
The other day I was doing a Rescue radiant quest for the Companions, and Ennis, whom I was supposed to save, turned out to have been placed by the game into Broken Tower Redoubt - as a result, when I came there, he had company! Image

i just have to share one of my first grievances with skyrim: my sneak thief having a hit out for him even tho nobody saw him commit any crime

Edit

here's another: the characters don't seem to realize that i just did what they wanted. assassination is a possibility.

I've just been travelling to Volunruud on behalf of a certain shadowy organisation, and encountered the random event in which 3 Thalmor soldiers battle three Stormcloaks, only problem being that it wasn't really a private event. Almost as soon as the forces clashed, they were attacked by the bandits residing in Halted Stream Camp nearby, including several archers, warriors and two mages. So here I am, on a horse that was 'Legally Acquired' from nearby Whiterun Stables, watching the three sided battle commence, laughing all the while.

A few minutes later, and the Stormcloaks are down, they've managed to drop several of the bandits, but the Thalmor remain strong, and proceed to wipe out the last of the bandits themselves, as they reform their single-file marching line, My screen begins to shake, and I turn the camera in time to see a Giant charging his way into the column, and with one bash of his club, he sends the first Thalmor flying, merely seconds later, the already weakened Thalmor soldiers are done, two K.I.A, and one M.I.A presumed dead. The Giant then looks straight over 'my' horse, and begins to stroke his chin, in what I can only assume to be a remorseful recall of exactly what he had just done--Or perhaps he was simply looking to the stars searching for that Thalmor he sent to the moon.

Possibly the most entertaining skirmish I have ever come across... times like these you wish you had a recording device...

So, the other day I was doing The Pursuit for the Thieves Guild. When I got inside Mercer's house, I dropped a pair of fur gloves that I'd accidentally looted from Vald earlier. The result? One of the bandits inside asked me if he could have them - engaging me in conversation through the floor - and then as soon as I exited conversation with him thanking me for my kind generosity, he went hostile and alerted all the other bandits in the house.

Isn't it a bit too late for that?
This actually happened to me: a fugitive approached my Altmer sorcerer Aedmar while he was in the middle of a battle with bandits - and went on talking to him after being killed by an errant arrow!
And I thought Aedmar just had to make some sort of sarcastic comment - an attitude like that comes as part of a package deal, together with a hooked nose and a high Alchemy skill. :P

I was rather amused when Talarie gave my Orc rogue the usual phrase of greeting just as when the latter was trotting around Solitude in her Thieves Guild armour, about to rob the Blue Palace. :P

So, my character was running to Rorikstead to talk to Mralki about Erik, now that he actually has some money. On the way, he passed a "Dawnguard Novice" who was freaking out and shouting "Help!" without making it clear what he needed help from. My character tried to talk to him, but he wouldn't answer.

He ran into the pub, my character followed - and suddenly there were two vampires, who were promptly killed by the Alik'r warriors who hang out in that pub because I haven't done their quest yet, while the Dawnguard Novice cowered in the corner. Then he said "Vampires? I'm getting out of here! Take what you want" and dropped his armour on the floor... except it came up as "Steal" rather than "Take".

Then I left the pub, with its two naked vampires (since I'd taken all their stuff), and suddenly there were three Necromancers who'd killed Rorik and Gleda the Goat! They were trying to avenge the death of the bad guy who'd trapped his soul in Azura's Star. Erik killed one of them, Jenassa killed another, and my character killed the third.

Meanwhile, the Rorikstead guards just wandered up and down the road uselessly .

Not the best kind of walk
As my player character was making her way through the wilderness, a Draugr popped up and, instead of attacking insisted on strolling side by side with her. :P

A Blood Horker surprised Annekke, who had her weapon sheathed. Instead of drawing her sword, she shield-bashed and punched the guy to death. I have never seen a Follower use that animation before.

After several hundred hours on this character alone, this game still has the capacity to surprise me.

I just ran into Dragonsreach straight after selling EVERYTHING I had in my inventory to the various Whiterun merchants...my male nord was therefore, temporarily running around in just his loincloth. I get to the dining area of Dragonsreach, and all I hear from the throne-direction is 'Ysmir's Beard! I didn't know it was going to be a party'

Balgruuf... you've just made my day, I really don't think I've laughed so much at a line from a game in the past...

On the road from Haafingar to the Reach we (=I, Cosnach, Madena and Eola) overtook a giant herding a painted cow (one of those the farmers give to Giants in tribute/sacrifice to appease them); he wasn't hostile, didn't even warn us away as giants are wont to do when you come too close, so we just passed him and continued on our way. A little further down the road we were waylaid by the bandits of Robber's Gorge and were already slaughtering them when the giant caught up with us, charged into the fight and simply crushed the few bandits that were still standing, all without harming a hair on any of our heads. When it all was over he and his cow just went on as if nothing had happened. The help wasn't really needed, but much appreciated, and I think this character will be even more reluctant to harm a giant from now on.

Giants are peaceful creatures and they never really get mad unless you break their personal space bubble. Normally, giants don't really deviate from their camps either.

It's an Undead Party, who could ask for more...?

So character Angrun finished the Companion Questline as a 'pacifist" no kills registered. The highlight was probably these dancing/rocking undead/deathlords under the "Harmony" spell in Dustman's Cairn. FreeBird!

I'm actually pretty sure this was one of the giant variants added by Immersive Creatures, which would explain his being far from his camp; I think he was a bit darker than the vanilla giants. And I've had lots of peaceful encounters with giants, but never before fought alongside one; that was memorable.

How did she obtain the Glenmoril witch heads without killing? (The picture rocks btw!)

This isn't a brag moment or a "wow" moment, more like a WTF moment. So you know how people will hire thugs to come whoop your booty if you steal from them or murder one of their loved ones? Well this happened to my High Elf Knight. Never stole a thing in her life, unless you count from bandits/undead/bad guys (which I don't). So I was thinking hmm... Who could have done this? I checked the contract on the head thug's body and thus it reads:
Here is the agreed upon amount. I
Expect you to faithfully carry out my
request to teach a lesson to the thief
Aearonil. You need not kill her, but I
have no qualms about it if you deem it
necessary.

--CuSith

So I was like, "What? Who could this be? Blasphemy!" I looked up that name on this website... And if you have dawnguard, you might already recognize it. I was on the side of the Dawnguard and these thugs came a couple weeks after I destroyed the vampire castle. Admittedly, I did take some valuables (A black soul gem and an elven dagger) from the castle since I was instrumental in it's downfall. However, my question/point is this: How did he write this? How did he contact the thugs? What am I missing here???

A troll did the killing, Angrun took the head. Frenzy / Mayhem / Invisibility spells. Easy peasy. Although the other quests in the questline were not nearly as easy - but doable as a "pacifist".

So today I decided to clean up my quest journal and sorta finish playing Skyrim for good. Well I just did the Destruction Ritual Spell quest and bought the other two Master spells when I realized that I have all the Destruction Spells in the entire game...

... And not a single perk in the Destruction skill tree! :P I aim to rectify that with Legendary Skills soon.

Was picking alchemy reagents outside of Tel Mithryn, i spotted a Nirnroot at the edge of the water, so i said to myself "Ooo! Nirnroot!" ran over to pick it when suddenly in the water next to me, there was a massive splash and a Lurker appears! Scared the crap out of me. Fortunately Valdimar was unphased by it and rushed in to my defense.

Started the CoW questline, was in Saarthal with Valdimar. He gets push off the edge of a walkway by Tolfdir walking and yells "Son of a..!" when he hit the bottom. Tolfdir looks towards where Valdimar was then to me and says "Careful now, these ruins arent entirely secure" or something like that. I broke out laughing

When I first saw a brother Nord get beheaded in Solitude.
One of the more impactful tracks was playing and it was a moving scene.

Nothing special or spectacular, but I was fighting a Frost Dragon at Bonestrewn Crest today and got Ice-Form'd into a nice solid ice cube, then ragdolled into one of the volcanic springs in that area, the hot water of which promptly thawed the ice so I emerged unscathed. Don't you love it when the gameworld actually behaves in a way that makes sense? Now I can't help wondering what Frostfall would have made of that incident...

It probably would have told you to have a three course meal, wrap yourself in a sleeping bag next to the fire and weep your PTSD'd heart out. ;) (love immersion mods)

Speaking of mammoths - my new alter (yes, another one) went to kill a bandit leader at the Halted Stream Camp for the jarl of Whiterun. She was only level 8 at the moment, so the fight was tough and I actually got killed on the first attempt. So there I am, dead on the ground, the bandits start walking away and they return to talking about that mammoth down in the cave. And the last thing I hear before the lights go out is this: "It's gonna take a strong axe to cut through all that fat".

Not cool, not cool at all.
