How is it even pronounced? Is it only a written language or what? O.o

For example, how would "Dog" be pronounced? Just "Dog" or wat?

I'm fairly certain it's a written language. As you don't hear daedra ever speaking some crazy language, just alot of phlegm.

Yeah, I think the only time you hear daedric is like the dremora when they say their titles and names and stuff.

TES is really lacking on the language aspect of the lore when compared to DA. Which could be improved in the next TES.

As far as it's been presented, it's only a written language. Daedric shows up on many artifacts in game and in a several tombs, but we also know that the Dunmer use the alphabet to write in - although they clearly don't speak Daedric.

Language is lacking in the TES series, but they also don't really use it much in voice, so there was never a reason to go into such depth. The only exception is really the Thu'um, for practical reasons: they had to invent some sort of phonetics, else you wouldn't be able to shout them, and what's the point of the Dragonborn then? ;)

Most languages in TES aren't actual languages, anyway, they're just relexes - languages with a one-on-one direct translation for English words or letters, without having their own grammars.

It would be quite amazing if they made these languages spoken ones. Just think, spells could be amplified if a perk was taken where the caster could say a few things in Daedric and the spell would do more damage or heal more health. Plus Dremora would seem more intimidating if they were to yell foreign words or curses while charging at you with a hammer. I still think they are missing out on a large bonus to lore with this too.

It would definitely be a great addition: it would make the world more real and give a big +15 to immersion, for sure. But you have to have someone create the phonetics and then be able to teach it to voice actors. It's not impossible, certainly, and it doesn't have to be complicated enough to warrant it being a full-fledged language a la Tolkien, but I don't think Bethesda has a linguist, or linguistically inclined person, working with them for lore.

...on the other hand, Bethesda, if you ever want one, I'm right here. Then we'll call it even for you borrowing my username for Arvel the Swift. ;)

Oh yes, there's snippets of it throughout the games without a doubt, as well as some other languages. Morrowind introduced us to a few little trinkets of Dunmeris, for example. ;)

Tamriel AE DAEDROTH - Ayleid, not Daedric.

(In case anyone is wandering, he is refering to Lorkhan as the daedric prince of Dawn's Beauty, Tamriel.)

in any case, he does speak a Language. it may not be Daedric, but there are some languages in TES which are spoken sometimes (other than English and Dragon)

(why couldnt that storyline have been true ? :( )

I think it would have been a lot cooler if Mankar was right. It would kind of go against the grain, where the bad guy isn't actually the bad guy.
