I'd been using the wiki for ages. And I do mean ages. Then I didn't understand what was happening in Arena so I made an account here, and found a nice community.

it started one day when after looking something up for the DB questline in Skyrim(Oblivion came first) and I noticed this thing that said "Forums". So I clicked it and then decided why not post, seemed like something that might lead me somewhere. So clicked, screwed up a couple of times, clicked some more, screwed up again, and clicked some more. After a bit I ended up at the part where you make a username, and I was stuck on what to use, so I said cursed again and again as possible username after possible username was probably taken by some most likely inactive user, eventually I typed in "derp53" and low and behold, it wasn't taken. Upon which I ate a celebratory cookie.

Best. Online. Forum. Ever. Nothing else needs to be said.

But I found it when I joined uesp, and saw the forums. I figured it would be better to take a look and I stayed.

Like most, I came to the wiki first. One day, I had a couple of questions that needed a person to answer them, so I stepped into the forums, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Consider this: the Dark Seducers and the Golden Saints are the eternal servitors of the Daedric Prince Sheogorath, the Lord of Madness.

Within the seat of his Madhouse, the Shivering Isles, they serve as the guardians of his word and the soldiers of his will. He is a Daedric Prince. And they— are Daedra.

Ya' know those hinky lil' swords/hatchets/maces which they are so ever much fond of smashing into all those who offend Him— would you consider those doo-hickeys "Daedric" weapons?

Someone then said to me— "Nope."

I ended up here simply because someone said something— stupid.

That astounds me.

Then again, it was through an indirect discussion of Sheogorath which I ended up here. Thus— I abide.

I found the forums through yahoo search. I was looking up info on some exploits for Skyrim and found a forum post about the Restoration exploit. I never did use the exploit, but I did join after lurking for an hour.
 I made my wiki account last week, I think. I still have yet to do anything with it though, can't get away from the forums long enough.

I used this site since I first got Skyrim, for little tips and hints.
I only found the forum about 5 months ago, and I have no idea how.

One day in Skyrim I was exploring a Dwarven ruin, when I noticed that the doors, and rather the whole Dwarven architectural style was based on art deco. So I searched "Skyrim Dwarven Art Deco" on Google to see if anyone else saw the same as I did. I was right. I found this thread . I knew about UESP way before finding that topic. In fact, I knew about UESP before getting Skyrim.

Anyway, I signed up about three months after finding that post, and I have been active ever since.

Hmm.. really the best way I can put this for me is that I found it not long after the wiki itself<_< and that was back when Oblivion was still new. Granted my older brother knew of it before then, but I was fairly new to the bigger game diversity.. aside from Nintendo... Still, I only glanced around and barely even touched the forums.
Even when I went head first to skyrim, I had yet to delve into the forums. Idk really, forums didn't really appeal to me and my impression of how all are was wrong. Once I had my own laptop and found myself with more freetime, I ended up testing the forums for a try. And now we're here, a very active member who very much loves these lands ^_^ though I still harbor some distastes of forums and overly large communities, but UESP is different and kind as often.

:alduinright: In short.. I clicked the forum link on the wiki.. and now I'm here. The End!! :alduin:

I used uesp.net for all my Skyrim quests when I needed a bit of assistance and lo and behold, there's a forum!

Mmmm, I never answered this.

I was using the wiki for Morrowind back in the day. When I came back as I was going through Oblivion and solidified my life as a major TES fan, I actually saw (unlike most other people at the time) the forums' link pretty quickly, came over, browsed for a while, then finally signed up.

One ascent to Tea Party Modship, Global Moderatorship, an organized forum and with absolutely nothing to do now as a Forum Admin-ship later...I'm still here. UESPF isn't what it used to be, and I do miss the days of my first two years here, but at the end of the day I still like to chat about TES, and that probably won't ever change with the rest of it.

Complete accident really, I looked up the odd thing or two on the wiki for Oblivion and one day, for some random reason I clicked the Forum link.
I got intrigued by the RP section and the rest -how they say- is history.

Just ignore the S'wit as she is still bitter about some of us stealing sweetrolls from her.

Oh, not too much, all things considered. Communities always change because the people in them grow up and come and go - and if they didn't, they would be really weird. It was quieter when I first got here, before the Skyrim hype, and it has this warm and fuzzy feeling of niceness because we didn't know each other well enough to be crude and insane yet. That, and of course you always start to miss some folks who don't come around anymore.

I saw a lot of great things, though. New subforums, two new game announcements (Skyrim and the MMO), made friends with lots of great forum and wiki folk, get to talk to Dave, saw us start up on social media... Wouldn't trade it for the world. :D

For me, it started with Oblivion. I had gotten stuck in some cave, couldn't find my way out, and didn't know what the objective was, so I did a quick little google search. Actually found the forums first, and didn't even know about the wiki until after I joined. I remember lurking when Skyrim was announced and the sub-forum formed, so I was lurking for a really long time. Eventually I decided to join and have been reasonably active ever since, even more so since the name change.
