I'm not 100% sure it's a glitch, it seems more like an unintentional side-effect of lateral thinking on the new NPC detection system to me, but here's the thread anyway just in case it qualifies

Re: Post funny, stupid or weird glitches that's happened to
I made a thread about a rather amusing 'feature' of the game involving an interesting use of buckets.

Crime trick, you won't believe this :)
There's a really easy way to commit crimes in this game and get away with them. You won't believe how easy it is:
- Find a bucket or pot
- Manipulate it in the air
- Put it over the NPC's head
The NPC that you do this to will not see you commit any crime.
I can't believe this actually works ...

Re: This is it
I won't be playing the game until around 6:00pm GMT tomorrow, due to a combination of my nocturnal lifestyle (being up all night and sleeping during the day) and the fact my girlfriend pre-ordered me the game from a store within a large shopping centre (which means they can't do a midnight launch as ...

Sony wont, you dont even need to sign in to PSN just have an active internet on your PS3 but Microsoft did with Modern Warfare 2, but not 3, so if you got it, I'd play it! I just hate waiting til I can hopefully go grab it tommorow and squeeze in time to play it!

Re: Skyrim guilds
The first Guild I'll be trying is the Thieves Guild. There are two reasons:
- It was my all-round favourite in Oblivion and Morrowind
- I know exactly where they are based (unlike the others) so I know where to go :)

Re: How do you plan to do your traveling in Skyrim?
First time round, I'll more than likely walk everywhere. The whole scale of the game can be missed if you're quickly teleporting around everywhere, and with so much to see and discover the trips themselves should be highly entertaining. I'll still resort to quick travel from time to time when I'm ...

Quick, unobtrusive question here: what is "Red Shirt" in any of the Scandinavian languages?

Re: Skyrim News!
By PS3 database I mean through the debug menu. It clears the internal file structure and rebuilds it. The database becomes cluttered when it contains refrences to data not there. It will begin to slow the XMB if left unchecked.

Re: Quick and urgent message for moderators...
I admit that I mostly just freaking hate when people complain about spoilers. This is my own belief on the issue. Though, virtually every wiki I've ever seen did seem to be concerned about spoilers (except for ones covering extremely old topics, or Wikipedia).

I know what you mean, But in Oblivion there were a few people with crowns hovering over them who could easily be replaced by any other NPC. What about shop keepers? It would be cool if they got replaced over time.

So this could give more freedom to the player. No more "blah blah is unconscious" that was annoying. Sometimes I just wanted to murder certain people.
Nope, that will still happen. There are always going to be 'essential' NPCs that can't be killed.

Even the in-town kills could be extra npcs generated (instead of sending you to kill someone you know), for example

He's saying the background to each kill could be randomly generated. "s/hes a noble in the court of W, X wants her dead because s/he Y'ed him and wants to Z"

That would work if they all had a randomly generated backround so it felt like there was an actual motive to each kill, rather than, "He's a bad guy and needs to be killed.".
I can't see any other way it could work. The other NPCs would surely be developed enough to the point where it simply can ...

If it helps, I've noticed that even the Bethesda forums are now being much more tolerant of spoilers. They're now allowed just as long as people post them in the right section, are thoughtful with topic titles and use spoiler tags. The only time threads that contain spoilers get closed now are when ...
