That's really cheap, only give patches to people who buy the GOTY edition?

Its either everyone, or no one.

She also looks nice in the Emperor's robes with the Shrouded hand wraps. I also gave her a Gold and ruby circlet.

how'd you guys get serana to wear the wedding dress?

Hey, it's brilliant marketing. Get the fanbase to buy the game several times. It's been done before, and a lot of people do it.

The real story here is that the entire on-line DLC thing isn't quite as wonderful and convenient as we first thought.

Spoiler:
Just upgrade regular Vampire Armor to Legendary status have her wear it, dismiss her and as she walks away picpocket her Royal Vampire armor. Then ask her to follow you again, trade items with her, remove the Legendary Vampire armor you gave her. After that you can give her any equipment and she will wear it. Just dont remove her boots or her starting equipment will appear back on her Your welcome! :D .

To get back to the Serana topic, a Mod for this will be impossible as she is ALREADY in the marriage faction. Hence the dialogue option. What pizzes me, and almost everyone else with Dawnguard off, is that Bethesda makes this amazing character, leads you on with all sorts of backstory, makes her ultra-attractive, and then sandbags you at the last moment when you thought you'd be able to have her.

Mods here, even if you managed to overide the given options, would be flawed, as it would make her into just another wet noodle personality spouse that the game is already too full of. Cook 1 meal, occasionally adventure with you...and carry dragon bones.

Sure, we all love the features that came with the DLC, and we love playing with them, but this issue in particular is like a slap in the face.

Actually, she probably has her own faction, or just unique dialogue, because it would be very difficult to add a condition within the PotentialMarriageFaction that would cause the quest The Bonds of Matrimony to not even trigger.

According to the Wiki, these are Serana's faction codes:

DLC1SeranaCrimeFaction; DLC1SeranaFaction

There's no page yet for info on DLC1SeranaFaction, so I don't see how anyone can claim that she is intended to be marriageable.

Because People claim to have equipped the Amulet of Mara, a dialogue option becomes available...and then...she turns you down.

Unacceptable.

Just because you can ask her to marry you, that doesn't mean she was intended to be marriageable.

It's like having car keys in your pocket. Doesn't mean you know how to drive.

 Ri'Zahr can drive! He doesnt guarantee a safe ride though!
Anyway, back on subject...
Then why bother putting the option there in the first place?

Exactly. The dialouge was added to add realism.

I don't have Dawnguard yet, so what follows is pure speculation:

The Wiki's Serana page contains this info in the "Notes" section:

Spoiler:
You can convince her to cure herself of her vampirism and she will go to Morthal and do so.

Maybe she becomes marriageable after having done this? It might be a work-around for this line from her Wiki "Notes":

Spoiler:
After completing the quest Beyond Death the player can ask Serana to marry them and she will say that even walking near a temple scares her, and will refuse to marry the player.

Well hey, I'm on a PC, so I can't try out Evil-I's idea. Perhaps someone else can?

Anyway the thought of getting herself to relinquish her gift as a Vampire just so that she can marry you is absurd. I was looking forward to taking a screenie of my char and Serana in wedding gear with glowing eyes.

If she cures herself, no more bright eyes.

Let me know if the Cure/Marry workaround is successful.

Do a save, then try it. For science.

Also, I've heard that she actually keeps the glowing eyes even after she's cured.

You can cure her? Oh and I'm wondering about the fact most characters are already made and you can't marry again. So unless a special option is presented won't most players be SOL for marrying her?

I don't even have option, I'm talking to her at dawnguard and the only two dialogues are ether turn me to vampire or make arrows. I asked once so according to the official wiki I doubt I reached the limit to annoy her out of it. I can't even ask her to follow me so I think something else is up.

As to the download can't be edited. Is a free download that only edits this issue be worked out? If you're enough of a fool to download something for an expansion you don't have a few bugs are deserved.

Oh and to why she makes in my opinion a good choice you actually went through things together to build up a relationship. With most everyone else you found an item and now they wanna marry you? With her it feels more authentic.

How do you even pickpocket her? She's not pickpocket-able. I tried pickpocketing her (she wasn't following me) and even though the option was there, all that did was enter a conversation.

I agree and Disagree While she is very handy and the best companion I've seen, If you plan on using your vampire lord form your vampiric drainball will be greatly decreased in strength for some reason. But other than that she is the best.
