So I just finished the main quest.

I am only level two, and I finished the main quest, sans cheating. The only reason I leveled up that one time was so I could do Sheogorath's quest for a daedric artefact.

I am disappointed, to say the least. Morrowind is and will always be better; Oblivion really fails to deliver.

Anyway.

Oh yeah, does anyone know where Daedric Armour is located? Or is it just random drops once I level up a bit?

Yeah daedric armor will start dropping around the 20's...i didn't start popping into the gates till after i was 20 so i dunno what the daedric lords would be wearing up till then..Hmm

Hmm

Every noob thug in Cyrodiil will be wearing glass and daedric once you get into your 20s.

Great.

I just leveled up to 13 in one go, that's how many levels I had ignored. I've got Orcish Armour now, Ebony should come along soon, eh? On those bandit [&@%!] on the side of the road?

you should try playing where you get your levels, cause it gets harder the higher levels you go
imps for level 1-3 and then they add a couple others in 4+ then and 10+ the atronachs join the ranks instead of imps and it gets crazy the higher levels you go
255 is the highest possible level to obtain...whos willing to get there? youd have limitless health and magicka pretty much

Er... yeah.

To get to level 255 you'd have to spend *ages* in jail so you major skills go down enough so you can level up again. Highly unrealistic, not to mention boring.

By the way, I do understand the concept of levelled difficulty.

he was just on pc and typed in the console code for level 255 so he most likely isnt nearly as strong as he could be if he actually spent his life leveling it

and to get to 255 you dont need to go to jail, you pick a race which doesnt give ANY bonuses to your main 7 and the birthsign doesnt give a bonus either

That guy used CS to create a character that had max in all parameters.

And no, by picking a birthsign and race like you said, you can't gain 255 levels. Not even 100.
You get 5 in every skill on startup. That's what they start at. Skills chosen as Major get +20 so they start at 25 ("Apprentice"). Assuming no other bonuses - race, birthsign etc, you get 75 increases in each skill (25+75=100). 10 increases give you a level.
75*7=525 increases of major skills in game.
525/10=52.5 which means the with careful choice of race but without use of jail maximum level obtainable is 52.

If skills started at 0, you'd have 700 increases, which means maximum level 70. Now assuming you want to reach level 255 through jail, you'd need to max out (52) and then go the route down to 5 (I don't think you can zero a skill) and back to max THREE TIMES.
So: Spend enough time in prison to get all your skills near zero, max them out again, repeat two times.
By the third time the world will be filled with level 200 enemies. And you will have most of your skills (you don't choose which ones you lose in jail!) near zero.

skills go past 100
therefore you can get 255 levels, ive been way past 100 in illusion as my main

Skill advances stop at 100. Fortify effects can temporarily increase skills beyond 100 (and some fortifies simply never expire, like Grey Prince's training or Haemus Mora's book) but without any effects and they don't count towards level increase. (the number is higher, the skill still works as if it was at 100) The exceptions are Athletics and Acrobatics which don't increase above 100 but fortified give their respective effects (higher jump and faster fatigue regeneration).

OTOH, 255-25=230 increases per skill; 230/10=23 levels per skill, 23 levels * 7 skills =161 levels meaning you wouldn't get 255 levels even if your theory was true and skills advances were capped at 255, not 100.

Mmmk

The reason that guy didn't scratch the ogre was because he was a complete noob and tried to fight it toe to toe. Sneak, running backwards with a bow and arrow, and alot of poison would put more than a scratch on the ogre.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand.

Yes, ebony will start popping up around 15.

Nah, this leveling debate is much more interesting.

Having not spent much time in jail, how quick do your skills drop? ie how many skill points per day?

Posted: Mon Jun 26, 2006 7:41 am
by Vook
Not sure how many days but I lost 3 points for stealing an inkwell from jailkeeper's desk when I wanted in :)

I don't agree that the game keeps getting harder...at level 30 it was pretty easy. On 35, I have 100% magic resittance (from Breton and a ring) and Liches, ghosts etc can be casually slaughtered at leisure. In Oblivion world, a summoned monster or two makes it pretty easy with a bit of running around, and with spells and magic armour, an 85% armour rating is pretty safe!

I preferred it around level 6-12 where a lion or bear was a real threat.

Did you already finish all the "protect" missions? Try getting the Chillrend at the farm near Chorrol. Try to keep Braurus and Jauffre alive through Bruma battle. Get Mazoga to become the knight. Lead count's son out of Cheydinhal gate alive.

NO.

I HATE her. I had to end up killing her after doing the black bow quest, I couldn't stand how bossy she was.

No "no". Make her the knight. THEN kill her.

I play at 3/4 difficultly and it took me hours and dozens of re-loads at level 46 to get this punk and his friend to the sigil stone alive. After thinking about this I may have to go grab my cowl and off this dark elf if he’s still around.
