What's your top 3 favorite videogame characters, and what game they are from.

Mine are:
Teinaava - Oblivion
Sander Cohen - Bioshock
Urdnot Wrex - Mass Effect

We're going by personality, right? Not by who we like to play as/with?
If so then...

Mass Effect - Liara T'Soni
Final Fantasy XII - Vaan
Oblivion - Runs-In-Circles

Oblivion: Giant Mudcrab
Halo 3: Sgt Johnson
Starcraft: Jim Raynor

Oblivion: Amusei
Mass Effect: Garrus
Star Wars Battlefront II: Boba Fett
Star Wars Jedi Academy: Boba Fett(seeing him wield a lightsaber is so ridiculous.)
Super Mario Kart(the NES version): Mario
Majora's Mask: The Carpenters
Twilight Princess: Midna
Ocarina of Time: The Postman

Oblivion: Lucien Lachance
R6V2: That one Asian guy that's in your squad
Halo (all of them): Grunts

Battlefield Bad Company: Haggard
Battlefield Bad Company: Sweetwater
Oblivion/SI: Sheogorath

3.Walkman (it's this simple, yet addictive Flash game I made, featuring deliberately bad English, and a character called walkman)
2.Morrowind: Talking Mudcrab Merchant. (Met him yesterday... I love him!)
1.King Dedede... because villains NEVER look like that... trust Nintendo to make the villain really funny to look at, and possibly "cute"

Keeping with the highly irrational choice of ONLY THREE(!) choices (why not five? or ten? or thirty?!):

* Jolee Bindo: KOTOR - cranky, brilliantly intelligent ex-Jedi "Just think of me as any other non-Jedi member of this party. Except with force powers. And a lightsabre". I love FF's, but I doubt there's a single line in the entire series that could compare to Bindo's dry wit and rambling brilliance. BioWare really know how to write characters.

* Alyx Vance: Half-Life 2 - from the minute you first saw her, to the last terrible moments of Episode 2, she's a character you genuinely care about. Funny, intelligent, empathetic, and just a little bit gorgeous (in a non-'sexy', non-busty way though)

* Lara: Tomb Raider TRII,, TR: Legend etc - iconic. Nuff sed. Did you know that Core intended her name to be Laura Croft? But they found out people with American accents - Americans, mostly - couldn't actually say 'Lah-ra'/Lara, and garbled 'Lor-a'/Laura. So they thankfully changed it. Thankyou Americans! ( ...for not actually being able to speak our language properly)

I was waiting until someone mentioned Lara Croft

You are welcome Tourist, we take pride in our inability.

1.Barret from Final Fantasy7, do I need to list the dozens reasons why.Ok,Funny and Badass.

I will add more later

Funny that you say Raynor, Zetal, Sarah Kerrigan's a favorite tragic story of mine. Ahm, if I mention the Pokémon Dragonair, will you all not laugh at me? As for the last, I feel like I'd be a traitor not to name an ES character, so how about Tarhiel? He amuses the heck out of me, like a modern Icarus.

The Dog Whisperer wrote:Final Fantasy XII - Vaan

I can't stand the little pest. His voice is as irritating as hell. He's easily my most hated Final Fantasy character.

Now, my favorites:

Edea Kramer/Ultimecia - FF8
Vincent Valentine - FF7
Tira - Soul Calibur series
Lulu - FFX

Well his voice is annoying.... but he's a thief!
The whole ragamuffin street orphan thing is what makes me like him, I don't think there's another FF character like him.

-Kaim-Lost Odyssey
-Saren-Mass Effect
-Sephiroth-FFVII
-Tellah-FFIV
-Cecil-FFIV
-Niko Bellic-GTAIV
-Kane-Command and Conquer series
-Jack of Blades-Fable
-Maze-Fable
-Alucard-Castlevania:Symphony of the Night

Those are mine

Oblivion-Lucien Lachance
Cronicles of Narnia: The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe-Susan
Halo 3-Arbiter
Lgend of Zelda:Twilight Princess-Midna
Lord of the Rings:Battle for Middle Earth II-Faramir

Oh, I say, that's a jolly good choice, but I must admit, I prefer Peter.

Ok... I just had to.

Only III and IV though and they don't count

KOTOR I-II: HK-50, By far my favorite character from any game.

KOTOR I: Jolee Bindo, His story about his friend and (thrash compactor?) was fricken awesome.

Halo 2: The Marines, Cmon anyone who says "Are you made of leprechauns? Cause that was awesome!!" Deserves to be up here.

I'm having trouble narrowing it down to just three, so I'll just list the first three that come to mind.

Master Chief - Halo 3
Skarin - Viking: Battle for Asgard (Yes, I'm a little bit obsessed with Vikings.)
Lego Darth Vader

Edit: Lunar, do you play BFME II on PC or Xbox 360?

Yoshimitsu from tekken and soul calibur.
he funny.

Ironmaiden, I play on the 360. Wish I had it for the pc though...

Well there is one VG character that makes me turn into feral fanwoman - Jin Uzuki from the Xenosaga series. But my all time favorite character is still Lance from Voltron - Yes I know it is not a VG character and I am going off topic, but you are not a fan of a character for over 20 years without mentioning him. (hence my name xenolion)

My favorite female is a tie between Quistis from FF8, and Grace Nakamura from the Gabriel Knight series. There are points in the game(s) where I want to strangle them and others where I applaud them.

Beckett from Bloodlines is a kindred spirit in impenetrably dry humor.

Deckard Cain from Diablo. Because when you take on the Prime Evils of Hell itself, rest assured that a dottering old man has got your back— watching your luggage chest safely in town. Pretty good rapper, I must admit.

And Evil Otto from Beserk. Because he reminds us that our time here in Life is fleeting. But take heart, because Death is nothing more than a big bouncing rubber ball with a smiley face painted on it. Relentlessly hunted by an emoticon. Who'd thunk it?
