is it true there is a talking mudcrab somehwere in Morrowind, who sells things or something like that?

I would just use the creeper.

Although, I cast the mark spell where he is.

If you have Mark and Recall, he can be somewhat useful, but the Creeper is really easy to get to.

Isn't Creeper in.... forgot the name, its that place north of of that one town where you have to go in the begining for the main quest.

It's been a while since I played Morrowind.

Creeper is in Caldera. You can travel from any Mages' guild to get there quickly.

I just found the mudcrab merchant today... and spent ages trying to use mark there (I had a 5% chance) I love what he says!

I think someone on the official forums (or it might have been here) said that they were really surprised to have killed a mudcrab and it was holding 10000 gold... then they got told that it was a merchant and they shouldn't have killed it.

You are correct, the trading money does not become available, only the contents of the inventory. Another "made up story" I suppose.

(Not Dogmantra, the original as I saw it somewhere as well).
