Furnishing Rosethorn Hall

I have purchased the house, but do not want to fully furnish it as I don't like it so over furnished. I'm not bothered about leaving the quest uncompleted.

My question is, does anyone know for sure about the storage? A number of the house "packages" incld some form of storage that is more than enough for what I want. I just want to be sure that if I don't fully furnish the house, all of the containers will still be fully secure and will not regenerate while I'm away?

Among others, I don't want the "House storage area" that goes in the basement, or does this package also do something like ensure the security of all of the containers in the house?

As long as it's in a house you bought, whatever you store in the cabinets, chest, etc. will not be lost due to resetting. You will not lose anything.
However, I don't know if this applies to dropping things on your house floor and leaving them there.

Thanks.

Just wanted to be 100% sure. It's my first house and have mostly bought it so I don't have to keep running back to chk my cache within 3 days each time, to prevent it getting lost in a reset.

Dropping things shouldn't be a prob, I've never seen dropped items disappear, but at least in a container there is the "take all" option and it's not so easy to loose things by kicking them about etc.

So far, I have not had any problems about dropping items on the floor of my houses.

Now that I've spent far more of the afternoon than I should have, playing about in my new house, I've got another question:

Can you move things around like chests, and if so, how? And can I nick a nice jewellery box from someone else to put in my house (didn't want the pack that incl'd a jewellery box)?

I think, you can with some mods on the PC version.

Yeah, you need mods to purchase and place furniture. Otherwise it is not possible.
