Where the hell do I exactly have to stand to fire the Arrow of extrication,it's driven me crazy, I simply can't get it done, I've simply tried everywhere, does it even disappear from your inventory when that happends?

The pressure plate in the middle of the bridge opposite of the sculpture, right between the two sentinel stones. You need to stand on it because it opens a window in the sculpture's chest, letting you hit the right spot.
A journal entry appears when you stand on it.

Quicksave before you attempt the shot, to save you any trouble should you miss.

Everything they said...and have fun dropping the walls so you can get up to the plate, if you haven't already. The buttons are a quite some way away. And once you do get on the plate, try some practice arrows first. You get a very distinct clunk when you hit the spot.
Just wondering, anyone actually done it by jumping to the spot where you fire? Is this possible? My Acrobatics is 100 anyway and I tend to be wearing the Black Hand robes and hood which fortify it. I survived the subsequent fall without wearing the Boots, put it that way.

I didn't hit the switch to lower the walls around the pressure plate but I still found a way in. I jumped from somewhere but I don't recall where. I had 100 agility at the time plus those boots you get for the quest. Anyway, it is possible.

I seem to recall that I made the jump on the second or third try.

But as for what is the ultimate heist? I think it is any item that someone pays you to retreive, which right after you do so and give it to them, you steal it back (right after you get your reward) and then sell it to your fence, buy it back, and wear it in front of the person who you stole it from. lol

Or maybe stealing armor from the local guard, and then wearing it the whole time you're in their city. lol

(been there done that)

Sounds like jumping it may be worth a try then this time around, I got very naffed off trying to find the buttons and getting accosted by liches. Compared to that, getting past the guards and Chancellor Ocato (poor guy, pickpocketed by the Gray Fox and burgled by me all in one day!) was a breeze!

Unlock that side gate in the east wall of the upper level. This puts you on a balcony. Push the block at the balcony's south end to open a secret door in the room below that leads to a large chamber. In the southwest corner are descending stairs and another set to the east in the room at the bottom. Go all the way to the bottom. At the end of this room, behind the altar, is a second block, push it.
Retrace your steps , watch out for Zombies. When you return to the big room with the statue the walls have been removed

Yep I did it that way the first play through and I found both buttons, eventually. Trouble is I had to skank a lot of liches to do it (mind you, got some wicked staffs...) Might be feeling lazy this time though and may try the leap.
