I never downloaded a mod before and all the shorthand names of stuff you need before you can download are confusing. I downloaded OBSE, do I need to do anything to get it to work, all I did was click download and leave it.
After it is working, do I just click download on any mod e.g. the keychain mod and it will work or do something more?
This is the website I want to get mods off:

You need to do the following:
Get OBSE
Install OBSE
Download and extract all mods to Oblivion > Data Files
Run Oblivion Launcher
Click Data Files
Enable (make a little cross appear) all mods you want
Click Exit
Run Oblivion by double clicking the OBSE icon

You take the files that you've downloaded and extracted, and copy/move them to the Oblivion/data folder.
The path to that folder should look something like this i think:
C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data
After that you launch the oblivion launcher (Weird sentence..), go to data files, and if you've done everything right you should see an ESP file of the mod you downloaded. Tick the box next to it, and you're good to go.

I have just copied the whole file that I downloaded into the folder: C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data and apart frmo that I didn't touch it at all
But when I open Oblivion launcher and click data files all I get is 'Oblivion.esm (Master File)' and nothing else. I have already restarted my computer but no change:
C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data
What am I missing?

you don't do it like that. To install the script extender, just copy everything (not the folder) to the Oblivion Directory, and double click the program icon to install it. Then, copy the .esp (the knife icon) from whatever mod you want straight into the data folder, not in any other folder. Also, if you're just using OBSE, there isn't any "real" mod that needs to be ticked, just run it with the OBSE icon, as opposed to the launcher.

Ok I think I got the OBSE mod working as when I click the icon the game opens and works alright. Do I have to use that icon every time instead?
I want to download this mod:
http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3409
how do I do it, I can't find a download button anywhere.
Also what do you mean by this?
Then, copy the .esp (the knife icon) from whatever mod you want straight into the data folder, not in any other folder.
What knife icon do you mean?

1. yes, use that icon every time, if you right click it and click "create shortcut" you can drag that to your desktop.
2. Just click files, then the words "Keychain Mod"
3. there's not one for OBSE, but there is in other mods that you download, which you need to follow those instructions for, note the words "whatever mod you want", I should have been specific, OBSE doesn't count but for everything else, just copy the pen-knife icon (same as the construction set icon) to the data folder
