Upgrading Oblivion for PS3 to Oblivion GOTY

Hi folks, my first post here after lurking for some time.

Having become completely hooked on Oblivion since buying my PS3 in January (Assassin's Creed hasn't even come out of the shrinkwrap yet!) I decided to enrich my experience further and get the GOTY edition, which arrived in the mail today.

I have two questions:

1. Can I use my current save game and load it with the GOTY edition? Or do I have to start again? I am level 12 and have been through a number of quests that I am loathe to repeat so soon - what sorts of effects is it likely to have if I try to play a GOTY version with a regular version game save?

2. Would bugs I have inherited from the regular version be fixed in said saved game? With a previous character I got to level 17 and had to start again because I went and got the Miscarcand Crown early in the game and it has compromised things to the point that Martin keeps getting offed in front of the entire population of Bruma. Is there a chance the bug relating to this issue might have fixed up if I go back to my save point just prior to giving Martin the crown?

Thanks in advance

Answer to the first question; Yes you can.

Second; Yes, getting the great welkynd stone (no crown) early in the game, will affect the "Battle of Bruma" quest. More info can be found here:

I don't think this bug gets fixed in later patches, so you might just be out of luck when it comes to getting Martin to equip his armor :(

You could try reverse-pickpocketing some permanent bound armor onto him to try helping him stay alive. Also make sure you got help from as many counts and countesses to make the Bruma battle easier.

Thanks for those responses - yes I did mean great Wellkynd stone not crown. Apart from the glitch I think it was a tad silly putting Miscarcand right next to the road towards Kvatch - I mean it's a pretty tempting looking target if you are just wandering over that way to fetch the heir and looking to boost up a few attributes on the way.

Anyway, I'll look forward to loading up my other savegame tonight and finding all about the mysteries of the Shivering Isles.

:(

Sadly none of my savegames were recognised by the GOTY version, so it's back to the imperial prison for me....

Really? I have never heard of it not working before.

Any PS3 users here that can explain this?

When I clicked on "load" I just got a message saying along the lines of "No data found".

The only possibility I can think of is my previous version was a region 2 disc and this new version is a region 1 - perhaps there is some incompatibility there?
