The smartest thing you did on purpose or by mistake

I read through the bigest mistake thread and thought I should start a "smart things you did on purpose or by mistake." thread.

Ill go first with two.

1.) When I left the sewers one of the first places I entered was vindaesle (sp?) where umbra is. Obviously after touching her she got upset so I ran/swam to imperial city and when i entered the gaurds (at least 5-10) killed her while I watched. I took what was left of her corpse and little did I know I had one of the best swords in the game before I really even started. Problem was I couldnt afford to repiar it after i used it!

2.) Focused on minor skills and only focused on major skills when i wanted to upgrade. I am not sure how smart that is yet because I am only at level 6, but my guy kicks ass.

3.) Smart or not I have done tons of side quests including the nights of nine, razor etc before starting the main quest., and focused on minor skills in orde rto not level up. I may come back and edit my post as to whether this was smart or not.

What did you do whcih was smart on purpose or by mistake?

Drawbridges

Well, the first time I did the Draconian Madstone quest (from the ruler of Bruma), I was still a bit new to the game in general and still getting accustomed to the physics of the game, jumping and so forth. While deep in the Akaviri ruins, I came across some drawbridges that could be lowered with a switch in order to cross part of a room.

Above the drawbridge there was a door leading much deeper into the ruins, but I think that door was the convenient "exit" that placed you near the entry once you were done the dungeon.

Anyway, I spotted this door and thought -- hey -- if I activate the drawbridge at just the right moment while standing on it, I'll be able to make the jump up to that door way up there! I've gone back to those ruins a few times and I'm still not sure how I managed to make this shortcut; at the time I didn't realize how close it would put me to the end of this particular quest.

I've always been amused when I can use the traps to my advantage, although more often than not this is unplanned.

I paralyzed Umbra on the Spike Trap the other night, that was fairly amusing.

Well....I'm not sure if this was smart, but it was very funny, and I didn't get arrested in Chorrol in my game....I kept a save before it, so that I didn't have to pay a HUGE fine

After getting my Conjuration up to 100, I decided to unleash some saved up anger, from not killing any innocent people in the Knights of the Nine Quest. anyway, I headed to Chorrol, and using a custom made spell (Summon Dremora Lord for 120 seconds on self) decided to reak havoc on the town. I started by attacking the Dark Elf woman that stands on the island near the chapel, and caused the town Guards to come running. I summoned the Dremora Lord, and ran at a guard, stopping briefly while the guard asked me to surrender. I resisted arrest, and of course the Guards started to attack me. The Dremora Lord went completely mental and started to pummel one of the guards that was attacking me. I then started to paralyse the Guards as they ran towards me (I have about 500 magicka from enchanted items that I wear, fortifying my magicka, and about 102 strength +2 from the scales of pitiless justice). Anyway, the guards were dropping like flies, and soon there were none left. I healed my wounds, and waited for 2 hours and yet there were more guards. After dispatching all of the other guards that decided to turn up, I walked to the Castle, and went straight into the main hall. Well long story short, it took about 5 in game hours to clear the whole castle, then I went round killing anything that moved in the town, and ended up getting kicked out of both the fighters and the mages guild.

But still, no guards tried to stop me. When I left Chorrol, and headed to Bruma, I found out that my bounty was well over 150,000.
