Post anything funny, philosophical or generally interesting that characters in games say. It's that simple.
"Someone built this tunnel, therefore it must lead somewhere" - Cortana pointing out the blindingly obvious in Halo.
(Cockney accent) "Who can oi kill?" - The crossbowmen from Empire Earth when you select them.
Some from the forgotten gem that is Giants - Citizen Kabuto...
Yan - "Here we are. Blind Man's Volcano"
Delphi - "But... there is no volcano"
Yan - "Well, what do you expect? The poor man was blind!"
(after they both fall several hundred feet to the ground from a portal"
Yan - "Bugger! Yan often find problem with portal transportation. Always seems to be off by few hundred feet"
Delphi - "You are quite the samurai, Yan..."
Yan - "You have much to learn, little one. They say you can lead a horse to water, but you..."
Delphi - "Do you have to speak like that?"
Yan - "Yan always speak like this when on mission"
Delphi - "I wish you wouldn't. It's really irritating"
Yan - "Ah, blue-skinned one speaks with tongue of butter-knives... OK, I'll stop"
Baz - "Oi, pub! Top!"

"Tell me, Doctor Freeman, if you can: you have destroyed so much... what is it, exactly, that you have created? Can you name even one thing?! I thought not."
- Dr. Breen from Half-Life 2. He apparently forgot that Freeman is a silent protagonist, and can't talk...
* Doctor Kleiner: "Right you are. This is a red letter day, we'll inaugurate the new teleport with a double transmission."
* Barney Calhoun: "You mean it's working? For real this time? Because... I still have nightmares about that cat."
* Alyx Vance: "What cat?"
* Doctor Kleiner: "Now, now, there is nothing to be worried about, we have made major strides since then, major strides."
* Alyx Vance: "What cat?"
[later]
* Doctor Kleiner: "Let's see, the massless field flux should self-limit and I have clamped the manifold parameters to include CY and LG orbifold, Hilbert inclusive. Conditions could hardly be more ideal."
* Barney Calhoun: "That's what you said last time."
* Alyx Vance: "Hey, uh, yeah, about that cat..."

"One Vision, One Purpose, Peace through Power!"
Also:
"This is not Warcraft in space! It's much more sophisticated!"
And:
"Turn the game console off right now!"

Rebel: So, ever used an AR-2 before?
Citizen: AR-2... no, but an AR-3, sure, plenty of times.
Rebel: There's no such thing as an AR-3.
Citizen: Well, you see, the city was lousy with AR-3s.
Rebel: No it wasn't, do you know what the secondary fire on the AR-2 does? It kills hunters, how did you city folk kill hunters?
Citizen: Well we sure as heck didn't use guns, we would wrestle hunters to the ground with our bare hands! I would get ten, twenty a day, just using my fists.
Rebel: So when you're out in the field you're going to be punching hunters?
Citizen: Out in the field? I'm not going out in the field, I'm a radio operator!
Rebel: Leave, you don't need to be here, and I'm not going to continue the lesson until you leave.
Resistance Soldiers upon Freeman's Death
Resistance Soldier: [Well] Now what?
Resistance Soldier: If you dare say "That's gotta hurt", I'll kill you.
Resistance Soldier: Should we bury him here?
Resistance Soldier: Dibs on the suit.
Resistance Soldier: Wait a second... that's not Gordon Freeman!
Resistance Soldier: He's done this before, he'll be ok (A reference to how the player can reload the game)
Resistance Soldier: Somebody...take his crowbar.
Resistance Soldier: I thought he was invincible!
Resistance Soldier: Any last words doc?
Resistance Soldier: That's not Freeman, is it?
Resistance Soldier: Freeman is...Dead?
Resistance Soldier: Doctor Freeman, can you hear me? Do not go into the light.

My favourite one from Half-Life 2 - "You will be destroyed in every way it is possible to be destroyed, including some that are impossible!"
Or "The Free Man once again excels in all given tasks"

"This chamber will be bathed in elementary particles that have yet to be named by human scientists. Perhaps, when I have the free time, I will name one after you. That way you won't be completely forgotten."
The second quote is kind of strange, as all you had to do was squeeze an antlion smelly pod thingy. Vorts are kind of strange, though. "No pit would be complete, without a Freeman climbing out of it."

Ah, a topic I like.. as somehow I randomly mumbled about this very subject with a mate just t'other day. The following is paraphrased, as I haven't read/heard it for a year or so. But:
[Sith trooper, in Star Wars Knights Of The Old Republic, threatening my bad-ass lightsabre packing Dark Jedi, about the 'wrath of the Sith']
The best selectable character come-back was;
"How about I split you in two down the middle with my lightsabre. How's that for wrath?".
Just... love that... I actually laughed, and to this day it's one of the few vidgame quotes I can ever (almost) remember word for word. That response got you fined for threatening to break the peace. But it's so worth it..
But props to Vesna for putting down some of the evidence that Dr Breen is - almost hands down, no competition - the best NPC ever written, in any game ever created by man. His presence in Half-Life 2 elevates the entire game, particularly his address on putting aside instinct in favour of reason, in the opening scenes at the train station.
Only in Deus Ex:IW (and maybe BioShock) have I ever heard anything as intelligent and cogent as that in a game. His absence from the last two episodes was telling, but to make up for that, the G-Man had more of an input..
I'd love to quote more Dr Breen (or the wonderful Alyx Vance from Episodes 1 & 2 in particular), Halo Grunts ("It was wrong to shoot at you. I see that now!!"), or almost the entire script from Officially The Most British Game Ever - Peter Molyneux's Fable; full of drunk Brummies, Scousers, and Scots, not to mention the plethora of those hailing from Devon and Somerset.
Fable; the only game where you can attempt infidelity after being nagged by your wife - who has just gifted you an axe after some naughtiness - stroll out to the tavern, get very drunk, throw up repeatedly mid-barfight, run from the guards, and try to beat your 'kick a chicken' record on the way to make the night time fist-fights down by the docks.. then flirt with the hairdresser as you get a new beard done the next morning. Bonkers brilliance.

"Hey, Boyfriend!" - Alyx Vance
"Rise and shine, Mister Freeman, rise and... shine. Not that I wish... to imply that you have been sleeping on... the job. No one is more deserving of a rest, and all the effort in the world would have gone to waste until... well... let's just say your hour has come again. The right man in the wrong place can make all the diff--erence in the world. So wake up, Mister Freeman...wake up and... smell the ashes." - G-Man

She - rocked. Maybe the best game heroine NPC of them all? Everyone loves Alyx Vance.
G-Man's interuption of her revival in Episode 2 (when the Vorts are bringing her back from the brink) has to be a highlight. And his exit in the final reel of Half-Life 2 is another goodie.
(just why are those games so much better than any others?!?)
But Vesna, either you have the worlds best memory, or you're getting this stuff quickly from somewhere... so where's your goldmine of Valve-related scripts??

I have the world's best memory. Well, maybe not the best, but still good. I hear/read something once, and I will remember it for the rest of my life. Most of the times word for word. And since I've played Half-Life 2 so many times I remember all my favorite quotes.
Proof? Ask my teachers on how they can never get me to take notes, yet I make straight 100s on tests.

I used to be like that. Enjoy it while it lasts. You will eventually fill up with to much usesless infomation, and forget the important stuff...
I skiped half of my classes, and still got passing grades. I aced the exams, just never did homework. Part of it is knowing how to takes tests.

I would to, except attendance and homework are 70% of the grade. Tests and quizzes are 30%, so if I didn't do homework/attend classes, I would fail no matter how high my final exam grade is.

You'll be happy to learn that this all changes in college

Well, except for project or lab classes. But maybe 50% of college classes can be aced just by showing up to the exams, and if your college is anything like mine was, you'll be able to "ride the curve" and get an A on an exam you got 80% right

Heh. Vesna, welcome to my life.
I hardly did homework (I was too much of a procrastinator), and I never took notes.
All of my teachers were shocked, however, when I had a nice, fat 100% on every test.
In fact, there was a standard test we used to take. The second-highest score in the District was 200/500...
I got a nice 300/500... >.>

Can't wait. Only 3 and 1/2 more years of school.
I hate being freshman. At least the juniors/seniors respect me. Unlike some other unlucky people....

Me? I'm Falanu. House Hlaalu. As if that matters here."
"I'm the only alchemist in Skingrad. Not much business here, but I can't go back to Morrowind. It's just like anywhere else in the Empire."
"By the way... do you happen to know what the fine is here in Cyrodiil for necrophilia? Just asking."
(after the reply "Uh...excuse me?"): Oh. Nothing. I was just wondering.
(after the reply "No idea"): "Thanks anyway."
(after the reply "Is it the first offense?"): "Let's assume...no."
(then after the reply "Then it's at least 500 gold."): "That's nothing compared to Morrowind. Thanks."

From The Darkness:
Jackie: I got my first kiss down here. I was fifteen. Some hooker named Candy. She crossed her legs, broke my sunglasses. Good times.
