Dictionary

I was wondering if it would be possible for someone to add a custom dictionary to the UESPwiki forum, so that when composing messages, Elder Scrolls and Tamriel terms (at least the common ones) are not recognized as spelling errors? It would be very helpful in composing clear, cogent posts. I suspect that some people let proofreading for real errors slide because the message composer continually sees Redguard, Weynon, Dagoth, Cyrodil (or is that
Cyrodiil
), etc. as errors. Thanks.

I guess I'm a bit confused here, when I post a message there is no spellchecker for me.

I don't have a spell checker either. I bet most of us don't. If there were, then a lot less people would be making a lot of spelling mistakes. And can't you right-click on it and click "add-to-dictionary"..... or is that just Microsoft Word?
PS: I now know how Arotos corrects posts, through the spell checker! He probably doesn't even know English that well!!!

The spellchecker is in your browser, not the site. I use firefox and have the same problem, so I just right click> add to dictionary if something pops up as spelt wrong when it isn't.

heh Silly me.

I thought that the spell-checking was part of the forum software.
In the message window, where I compose replies, if I make a spelling error (or any word that the spell-check doesn’t recognize), it appears underlined faintly in red. I thought the forum was doing this, and did it for everyone. I suppose that
okiphia is right, then, and it is an artefact of my browser (I, too, am using
Firefox) and not the forum software at all! I shall have to see about languages and custom dictionaries in
Firefox.
Oh, and yes, right-clicking opens up several options including “Add to Dictionary”.
Well, thank you all, for replying. Mystery solved.

Word-for-word translations don't work, sorry

If you mean the whole forum in general (as opposed to just those who have posted above), I'm sure that I've seem one/some members post that they do.

(Sorry, I have nothing fully constructive to add, as I don't generally look this low down on the Forum index - but I couldn't help posting.. )
[looks at the myriad languages that make no sense]

Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.......

But I speak the
language of love! Surely the best of all languages!
Actually, no - I don't.. I speak just one language, and the Language of Love would
still be a distant third.. curse you, Universe!!
But here's an idea. I am powerless to respond to foreign 'non-English' languages. So if I'm getting on your nerves, just speak your crazy 'different' language, thus leaving me confounded.
Who would've thought there are so many different ways of communicating out there! Mind you, Scousers are apparently English - and goodness knows
they can't speak English.
Right, that's me done.
(I also have no spellcheck. anywhere. I don't even have Word. but I do still have a 'real' dictionary)
