Elder Scrolls based rock and/or roll

You may remember ages ago that I wrote a thread stating that inspired by the likes of Rush, iLiKETRAiNS, Led Zeppelin and legions of other wizard-rock bands that I'd have a go at writing and recording music based on the Elder Scrolls. Well, a mere 6 months or so on I've finally got round to doing that.

The track is called We Are Hunted, and there's a virtual hi-five for anyone who can work out what it's about. I'm planning doing one about Arch-Mage Traven and how he killed himself to save the Mages' Guild, or maybe one from the point of view of the assassin who kills Emperor Septim. Feel free to suggest your own topics - the more dramatic/obscure the better!

We Are Hunted - Enjoy!

Here goes plz don't laugh (I know Jeff wont)
Rush of the Race
Blades all round'
Have to be quiet,
But I wanna shout
Feel's like a jump,
From Dive rock,
Can't get a grip,
What if it slips,
What if I trip,
I just have to killllll...

This is just the chorus,P.M. me is you have suggestions, Don't flame    I'm not a very good song writer

Not that I have a clue what I'm talking about, but r, I really like it. It's not about an Ob storyline though is it? Something like Argonians being chased over Blackmarsh or something, but once again since I'm sure it's not Ob, I def don't have a clue of what I'm talking about!!

Lunar, I don't think anyone around here is likely to ridicule or laugh in the least. And def no need to feel shy or embarrassed. It's always nice to hear/see people's creativity.

It is an Oblivion storyline. Think Fighters' Guild and pay attention to the second verse.

I love my job!

But don't worry. We all love to see the artsy side of people here.
Here you all go.

Picks up his accordion and starts tappin' his foot.
Hey there, y'all. This is an old UESPolka tune, and I want you all to sing along.
Come on Jeff, Weka, let's do this!

Ooooh! Mehrunes' went down to Chorrol,
He was lookin' to open some gates.
He was livin' large, his Daedra charged.
He's been liftin' all four of his weights.

He came across a bosmer, squeezin' an accordion and playin' it cool
Dagon hopped on an old tree stump and said "Boy, let me make a deal with you."
"Now you play pretty good squeezebox, mer, but give this daedric prince his due. I bet a shiny accordion of gold to say I'm better than you."
The elf said "My name's Thaebil, and it may not be right, but I'll take that wager, better call your momma on her pager, you're gonna be cryin' to her tonight..."

5 points to anyone who can recognize the parody.

I'm on a business trip, and the connection here is bad slow. Every time i tried to make a post, it would stall. Took forever to download the tune too.

Not to bad a song. Due to Quality of replay device, or lack there of, I didn't make out the lyrics to well though. Thus, I could not really piece togeather what it was about. The tempo was a bit slow for my tastes, but I felt it did portray the "Being Hunted" theme. It had that, feeling of doom & dispair.

Did you do the backing stuff on you Mac?

As a stand alone, it is okay, but could definately fit into a "Concept" Album type thing. Maybe go with a "The Hunter", higher energy piece before it. Then have a more Hectic, "The Chase", type piece to follow it up.

Right... Yes, the tempo is slow, it's supposed to sound quite dark and ominous, and musically it's all a build up to the apocalyptic military rave at the end.

I did do all the backing stuff on my Mac, on Logic 7 to be precise. I recorded the guitar and vocals with my awesome new Red5 microphone and the rest of the stuff is all MIDI.

I've got an idea for a follow-up track and it's going to be more upbeat. I've got a couple of other ideas bouncing around too so there might be some sort of coherent mini-album soonish.

And here's the lyrics, if they'll help you with my little challenge.

They came for us at dawn
The men from the east
They came for us from nowhere
And killed all in their path
Now the fog of war is settling
And all that I hold dear
Lies dead at my feet
As we are hunted

When you arrived I knew
You were the one she had spoken of
You were the one who saved my life
And the one who took theirs away
Now the fog of war is settling
And all that I hold dear
Lies dead at my feet
As we are hunted

It might not just be you, certainly last night uesp was constantly dying here too.

r - Blackwood company? Specifically maybe the slaying at Water's Edge? I did wonder last night if that might be it, but I'm still not at all convinced. We need more lyrics! :D

^ Yep, that's it.

On a related note, I also noticed the forum being ridiculously slow yesterday eve. I wonder what happened?

Woo hoo!! :D

It was actually the mood of your music that made me think of that as well, since, to me at least, it's one of the worst things that happens in the game. Even when I first played it, something just didn't feel right, it was actually pretty horrible even before I knew what was happening. I didn't do any killing, though I was worried that I was going to break the quest. The tone of your music really taped into the tone of the spooky-gloom feeling that I had when I did the quest the first time.

I once rewrote California Love* and Riding Dirty to be about the Imperial City and running from the Legion - it was supposed to be tongue in cheek, though, since I don't actually listen to much hip hop.

I'm too embarrassed to post them right away. If anyone asks I will put one of them up.

*California knows how to party, LA knows how to party, if you have heard it before but don't recognize the name.

Almost finished the music for a Mages Guild-based one, I'm currently waiting for the house to be quiet enough for me to be able to record vocals!
