Mystery at Harlun's Watch

I have this issue in the game (I'm playing xbox 360) There have been reports of finding the bodies and clearing the cave but never triggering the "all clear" message.
I can't load a old save game as I got distracted when starting this mission and never came back to it til now, now when I load back all my saves this mission is already a quest item.

Do you mean no journal update told you that you have cleared the cave of all the trolls? If so, go through the cave again and check the local map for unexplored parts. There are many trolls in there and you may have missed one.

I have cleared out the cave, and the found the bodies but nothing happens, no message.

Indalus I will try that when i get home. I thought I was suppose to get a message telling me about the bodies.

After clearing out all of the trolls I get the message saying I have killed all the trolls and I should search for evidence. When going into the room of the dead bodies where the green arrow points to, nothing happens, even if I search all the bodies and take everything. Am I missing something or was I suppose to do something

There are def probs with the quest "recognising" the dead bodies. But according to the wiki link you posted, for xbox you should just be able to report back to Oreyn and get the next quest anyhow?

I know that on PC, which I use, this quest always glitches, and even after killing all the trolls, I have to use TCL to advance the quest. Can't say for sure what one would do on the Xbox.

Just use the console to set it forward - ...oh wait.

(If you get this bug on the Xbox 360 version resulting in you not being able to finish the quest, it is still possible to become the guild leader! Just go back to Modryn Oreyn in Chorrol and accept the next quest)
Go back to Modryn Oreyn house, not the guild. I went back to the guild several times looking for him and he was not there.
It looks like I can continue, which is the main thing.
