I think that is a good thing. With all the crashes of Daggerfall.
Its been great so far.
The advice to save before you leave the sewers is mandatory. It will prompt you to change your character (RACE,SEX,BIRTHSIGN). You want to say yes to one of them. But don't change anything. When you pop back to the main screen after you did that you can save your game. This is the first time you are able to save since you started your adventure.
Again you walk forward and it will prompt you with the question, "DO you wish to change your character attributes?"
This time say no and it will let you out of the sewer.
This way if you make a mistake you can go back and change some stuff. Or if you want to start another character....this is the best way around the intro.

Good info, thanks.
Will remember that when I eventually get the game!

I was able to find the game on Monday in an EB Games in Mississauga...and my collectors edition managed to come the next day (was worth the 75$ bucks for that one day though).
Its pretty much everything I expected the game to be from the screenshots and preview information. Some things are better, some are worse. I did a quick 5 hour review on the Wiki for more details and will be doing a more in-depth review at some point.
I've been doing my best to write walkthroughs as I play the game, unfortunately this takes me twice as long to do things. I've been splitting my playing time in half between doing quests and writing walkthroughs and just playing the game (and trying not to run into any quests in the process).

I admire your self control, I've made myself wait to buy the game.
I've got the A+ exams to study for and it's my reward AFTER I'm done.
If I had it now I'd not stop playing for months!!!
Either way I wish you the best with the walkthroughs etc!
Once they're up on the site I'll do my best to help (which will probably be limited to layout assistance ;¬)
Anyway, thanks again!

Truly the wisest path with those ambitious yet unskilled coders of Bethesda is to steal the game, and then buy it six months later when their done fixing the 100,000,000+ bugs and screw ups and just plain crazy stuff.
I preordered Oblivion and just like with Morrowind I'm not going to even bother picking it up till the end of summer. I'll putz around with my warezrd version and tell mylsef, "all these bugs and crashes are just from the crack! it'll be good when I go into town and pick it up"

It's still something you shouldn't do. One of the unwritten rules in almost every forum is to never resurrect a thread that has been dead for quite a while.

Depends on the forum. Some places I've been get snippy if you post a new thread on an old topic.
OTOH, thread necromancy should be kept within reason: mainly, adding new material and thoughts.

It was, because you get answers to problems that people may have. But this one? Anyone here have the game yet? Well....

Honestly? I don't like those "Ask ME! I know everything!" threads. I think they are just a pathetic attempt of the starters to distinguish themselves. Don't get me wrong, I think it's cool that you want to help people. But so does everybody else here. Why not let people ask questions in seperate topics? That makes it easier for others to find answers to questions that have already been answered. Also, but maybe that's just me, I don't feel encouraged to answer people who specifically ask someone else for advice.

I agree. I was actually kind of thinking the same thing myself. No offense to mandangalow of course, but I find it more convienient to have people ask questions in threads open to anybody for answering. I know of course we could answer in your thread if we wanted to, but you get the idea right?

There's nothing new, or worth reading from this thread. It's a complete waste of bandwidth.
Why the hell would someone start again a half-ass question like 'Have you got the game yet?'!?!?

Exactly! It's nothing but ego-stroking for anyone who starts a 'Ask Me Anything' thread.
Post questions with clearly and intelligently worded subject headers and let people post.
Another thing I can't stand is a thoroughly useless heading like.."I have a problem"

Yeah. Mainly when someone post a topic here, they have some kind of problem. The forum rules even say:
"Use a decent topic subject. - People tend to look at topics that have educated subjects more than they do with subjects such as "HELLPPP!!!!" or "look at this"."
