Here's a new thread for the story game that actually makes sense.



an imperial named Zegeras was walking one day down the imperial street

when a Breton Battlemage approached him, and...

inquired if he was interested in a quest.

"What kind of quest?" Zegeras replied?

To search for a lost artifact...

known as the Rod of Splendor.

"Doesn't Rindir sell those?" He asked with an eyebrow raised.

"no, you can only find it in an ancient ruin" said the battlemage

"Oh well," said Zegeras. "I'm in. Where do I start?"

"First, I need you to find the location of the ruin."

"And I know someone who might be able to help, if you go and speak to.....

"A dunmer named Arotos Markos at the Arcane University."

"I've heard of him", said Zegeras, "And who might I say sent me".

"You only need know that I speak for one who will reward you well."

With a raised brow "Then how shall we next meet"?

"I shall find you." With that, the Breton left.

(aha, now I see what you mean!!)

So Zegeras turned South and headed for the University, wondering what information Arotos might have.

He arrived at the University several minutes later.

"What business do you have at the Arcane University", asked the Imperial Battlemage guarding the door.

"I am here to see Arotos Markos." Zegeras said defiantly.

"Who may I say is requesting and audience"? asked the Guard.

"Zegeras Bettican, Former Imperial Archer."

"I shall see it the Archmage can see you", replied the guard, and entered the door to the tower.

"Wait right here." The Battlemage stepped onto a teleporting plaque.

As a robed figure aproches, "What brings you back to these parts Zegeras"? asked Raminus Polus.

"Ah, I jus-" he was interupted as a tall dunmer appeared.

"Zegeras I presume?" Though he looked forbidding, he held out his hand in greeting, "I'm Arotos Markos."

Zegeras smiled politely and accepted the hand. "'tis a pleasure, sir."

"Look, I have a question for you, do you know of an ancient ruin that holds The Rod of Splendor?" asked Zegeras

Markos narrowed his eyes. "Who told you of the Rod?"

"That does not pertain to my question, do you or don't you!?" said Zegeras sharply

The Archmage snarled. "Perhaps it does, Imperial. By asking you whom told you, have I not also informed you that I know of it?"

(Sorry for having this one be longer than the usual, but I'm sure there really is no absolute limit in THIS game.)

"Tu-che, truth be told, I do not know his name either, he just said you might know where it is." said Zegeras

lets make it so theres no limit, but dont go overboard

Markos stood in silence for several long seconds, cooling his temper. "Come to my study." He strode onto a teleportation tile.

Zegeras followed him, on the other side of the teleporter was a brightly lit room full od paintings of past lords

(Er, anybody, feel free to post at any time)

Markos motioned towards an oak chair. "Hm...It has been years since I have heard someone utter those words..."

"What troubles you about the Rod?" replied Zegeras

i guess nobody's on

(...Or perhaps by speaking in full, coherent sentences, we had destroyed the unique entertainment of the Story Game).

"Well, a long time ago..."

"i once possessed the rod..."

'...but sealed it away due to its corrupting influence'.
