My computer is running oblivion extremely slow and i'm running on windows vista.....dont know if that has anything to do with it...could anyone help me figure out how to get it to run faster?

Try deleting programs that you know you won't use at the moment, like old games or saved files. If that doesn't work, I say buy a new tower for your computer with something around 4.0 GHZ. But try the less expensive option first.

Have you tried playing with the various vid options etc to see if that helps? You could try the distance settings and turning the grass off etc, that kind of thing, just to see if anything like that does make a diff.

Weka's right. Your problem may lay in the amount of graphic settings you've turned out, like if you've maxed out how high the graphics look or the detail in grass. Definatly try tuning it down a bit if its really high or fairly high and see if that makes a difference.

Vista is hungry, in fact starving, when it comes to ram. I suggest you get yourself some more.

You should try some of the performance enhancer mods from eusp lists.

I have a 1.6ghz with 2gb ram and a 256mb graphics card. It works pretty good I think, a little slow when theres a lot of tall grass but thats fine.
