Have you ever had to send your 360 in for repair because of the "three red lights" issue? Mine is doing that and I have to send it in :( How long did it take for you to get yours back? It's only been about two weeks since it broke down and I haven't even sent it in yet, but I am going through withdrawals!!!

I get the "Three Red Lights of DOOM" sometimes, but that is because I have mine plugged into a power strip. I think its because the Xbox has a surge protector and so does the power strip, so that could be the issue.

Actually you could have called Micro and asked them and the have a fix you can do at home. I haven't had it happen yet but a friend did.

Oh yeah, there's a lot of stuff on the net to fix it without voiding anything. BTW do you have a GT?

I've gotten the red lights of death once, had a power spike but they went away after restarting the console, my friend said that whne you se4nd them in, they are replacing them with newer drives so all in all it might not be abd idea to send it to them.

The thing is, before the red lights, for a while it was freezing a lot when I was playing my game, so I don't think it's something I can fix.

since we're on the subject of errors, do any of those cooling fans they sell work well enough? I just bought my 360 this weekend, so i'm pretty worried about the redlights of death happening to me, so i've been taking breaks, but its hard when you get something brand new and gotta go at it like crazy.

The Nyko one works well, but it makes quite a bit of noise. It does cool the console off alot though. :!: Beware though, it voids the warranty! :!:

Its also a drug. I quit and started, and quit and started... but then i got bored.

Its probably 10 times worse with WoW.

how does it void the warranty? Isn't it external and can be detached?

I got the red ring twice. Both times the whole process took about 9 days each for me to get a new 360. I now have a cooling system and haven't been getting any problems for my 360 yet.

EDIT: Forgot to add in, the first time is because I accidentally dropped my 360 in a two inch fall on wood. The second time, my screen was turning blue whenever I joined a match in Call of Duty 3. Maybe I should've stopped playing and then came back to playing a day later and it would've cooled down.

Yes, does anyone know if it really does void the warrenty, because I would like to get one after my 360 is fixed.

it will only void the warranty if you do something inside the box any external items like fans should be fine unless of course otherwise stated on the item or by xbox but the cooling items will be fine I bet they are actually recommended.
