I've read a lot of stuff about this game and the history of Tamriel. So far, I've not seen anything that adequately explains why Wood Elves are so hated. Anyone care to enlighten me?

Take a look at some of the in-game Bosmers.
Glarthir, Maglir, Thoronir, Maenlorn and Caenlorn, Thurindil, Erthor and the one and only ADORING FAN.

These annoying [&@%!] may be the prime reason for Bosmer hate.

Oh, and Uuras the Sheperd.
"I am the mountain sheeps brother, and I must dash with him from crag to crag!"

What??? Maenlorn and Caenlorn are two of my favorite NPCs.

You're right about the others though.

Maenlorn and Caenlorn are obsessed with the fact that they are twins, and they talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk about it ALL THE FU*KING TIME...

Mostly the reason in game people hate them is that they are thieves by birth right.

The men are enormously annoying midgets with stupid faces, and the women are all weirdos. Especially Cutter.

Okay I think Cutter is cool. I mean who doesn't like emo chicks

My brother did know why the men are small.

Bosmer: Silly tree hippys who think them self tough by shooting arrows at a safe distance and wearing fur armor, who also suck at stealing, and ALWAYS take shortcuts.

The reason for my personal hatred for Bosmers, is that they look and sound so snoopy. Also, I have sympathy with the cats from Elsweyr, with whom they have fought.
I don't know why other would hate or dislike them.

shortcuts: you know? instead of buying things they steal them: The "Bad" theif from SI? that fella in IC who sells items REAL cheap? they always want the cheap and fast way out. i say we should round them up and take them to dive rock where we can all have turns pushing them off one by one.

i just hate them, i hate how they look, how they talk, how they fight, im going to track everyone down and kill them in there sleep, if i was destined to be a bosmer i would kill myself, sorry, i just hate them lol

Haha, but I like Thurindil! Although I have to say, I've played a thief type character with both a Bosmer and a Khajiit, and I prefer the kitty.

Your welcome! I couldn't remember ever seeing your posts so angry before, so it seemed as though something had changed. It helps to know your community and members, and I have read a lot of posts, lol.

Well, I think you've all made valid points.

I enjoy playing Wood Elves, because most of Cyrodiil seems to be wilderness and they're one of the best races to play as a forest dweller. Plus, when you play them in Anvil they have lots of other Wood Elves to pal around with. Overall, lots of fun for me to RP.

Yes wood elfs aren't the worst of all the races. Yes they are lying, backstabbing, and manipulative thieves. But that is all there is to being a thief. I don't understand what the problem is about them being short and having an accent. But to me I think (and I do mean I think) The worst are the Imperials.
