I just wanna know what music people listen to (OTHER THAN THE IN-GAME MUSIC) in Oblivion. I did find listening to hard rock like Avenged Sevenfold and bands like is friggin' hilarious. Good fight music. I listen to that in the Sims 2, too, but whatever.
What do you guys/girls listen to?

I either listen to Am I Evil? for fighting, and So What? or Stone Cold Crazy for when I go on rampages, all by Metallica.

I listen to Nightwish most of the time because I like the Symphonic sounds of the original soundtrack but I don't like it being interrupted every time I find a Mudcrab.

Me and my husband have imported most of the Morrowind music files into Oblivion. We also have some Mike Oldfield and a lot from a Swedish guy who composed music for a project that never made it to the market. A pity, because those music files are wonderful. I'd love to share them with you, but I don't know if it's possible to post such files. I'll check with hubby and get back to you.

Too big file to send by mail. I have packed the files and am now desperately trying to upload the stuff on Tessource. Unfortunately it doesn't work very well. Tessource says that the file type is not allowed, but I have tried with .zip and .exe which
are allowed. Damn!
Edit: At last. It worked. The file is available at

did you just slap .exe and .zip on to the footer without changing the file format? thats all that I could think that would effect anything.

I like having post-rock on, like Explosions In The Sky or Godspeed You Black Emperor. It fits the epic-ness of the game.

I normally listen to music when i'm playing, but with Oblivion I'd rather listen to the game. I can't go wandering through the woods, and not know that some wolf is crunching my armour from behind.

Avenged Sevenfold isn't hard rock.

None of those songs are by Metallica.
And I just stick with the in-game music because it's minimal enough not to be distracting, and any other genres besides classical kinda spoil the immersion.

The Oblivion music is pretty nice, but can be distracting at times, so it's typically turned off.
At occasions when I don't care about such subtleties I play the following in the background (in Winamp): Ayreon, Symphony X, Sonic Syndicate, Killswitch Engage, Dream Theater etc; anything bombastic and over the top.
With that on I don't hear any game sounds at all

Oh, are they not!!??
"Am I evil" is at the "Garage" album, disk 2 and "Binge and Purge" disk 3. Same with Stone Cold Crazy.
"So What" is also at the "Garage" disk 2.

Sorry!

I meant I listened to the Metallica versoins, as in the covered songs. I know they aren't by Metallica but they covered a bunch on the Garage Inc. album. Anyway, I don't really listen to any music other than the in-game music, thats good enough for me. I don't even know why people complain about it.

Heh, it's all gravy. I'm just sad James can't sing anymore, and that St. Anger was "the album that should not be".
Seriously, give some Mozart or Beethoven a try while you play. You'll have more conversations with people. Personally, I burgle them more.

Ooooo, never tried that, I'll go find some albums.

When I feel like going on a rampage I play "Having a Blast" by Green Day. It's demented in a peppy sort of way.

The composer is Calle Hansson. The music files I put on Tessource are from the PC version of a popular Swedish PnP RGP called EON. Unfortunately EON never got finished, but I have access to the music thanks to my husband who worked on the project in 2000. You can find the music files here:

As far as I know the company management didn't care very much for trifles like paying bills, salaries etc. I think they fled the country after the bankruptcy. The staff was left to fend for themselves as best they could.
