I'm considering trying this mod.
I'm wondering what your experiences with it are. I know its very popular.

I've never used it, so couldn't say.

I myself have never used it but I hear it defiantly isn't for the new player and have a good number of bug bugs in it. at least thats what I heard

I use it, and find it great. It adds a bunch of content, as well as fixing the skewed leveling.

I've had it for about a week and I think it fixes most of the things I didn't like about Oblivion (such as the autoleveling system, etc.)

I never realized until I got OOO what a crappy game the vanilla Oblivion is. Overhaul really makes use of a lot of features that weren't taken advantage of by Bethesda.

I bought Oblivion, installed OOO and never looked back. OOO can be pretty harsh and unforgiving for the new player , you should always be prepared to cut and run as some situations are just tough. I don't mind a challenge, but I did do a fair share of reloading learning both Oblivion and OOO. Since I don't fancy efficient levelling I am running OOO with SPAM. Its a nice combination I must say. SPAM keeps me on the curve, and OOO keeps me on the edge. I don't run into too many bugs either. A+.

The only annoying thing I found was the fact Torches had their names removed. And the removal of a couple strings, which I fixed manually.

Well, it depends what you are looking for. I personally recommend OOO, though it does make the game more difficult, especially starting out. I can't really go into detail about all it changes, there are to many things. One change I like is the addition of new special weapons and armors, one of a kind sets that are scattered about, or just single items that are referenced in books also added by the mod. Don't forget new quests added, all rather difficult, and very rewarding.
Oh, and in the latest version, they added the name back to torches!

Also, just a quick question: Does anyone know if Aidon's (Aidon from the various books added by OOO, Aidon and the nord in this case) weapon is available in the game? Silver Falls, the nords weapon is I(though the item is "Silvery Falls," close enough). I can't recall the exact name of Aidon's sword, but it being referenced makes me think it is available. Can anyone confirm this? And if so, a hint where it is found would be nice.

NECRO-POST!!! Please, before posting, look at the date of the last post. A 1 week+ old last reply is a dead topic.

It depends on the kind of topic. If its a help topic like this, i agree. But if it's a "post your character" ish thread, it's better to resurrect it in stead of making a whole new one. Sure, if the thread is months old, make a new one, but a week old one can easily be posted in.
