Master Writ Expiration Date?

Grrrr... Did I forget to mention Grrrrrr!!!!!! ?
Bought several master writs. Mostly supposed to return something like 88 writ vouchers or more. Got hung up on one writ due to the Morag Tong outfit style vs. crafting style confusion. It would help if they called one Style (perhaps for appearance) and the other Motif (for crafting). But it says Style in the Crafting Writ description, hence my confusion. Finally figured out that the quest Journal has a button to show a list of crafting motifs (as opposed to outfit styles). By the time I got back to looking at the other writs in my inventory, they were devalued to 6, or 7, or 8 writs each. Thousands of gold buying the writs wasted. Now, they are not worth the materials to improve the writ items to the level they require. Wound up destroying half a dozen writs.
Where do we find information on how much longer a writ will be good for? If I buy from a guild store, I have no way to know how long it has been sitting in their vendor bank. Even if I did know that, I still have no way to know how much longer it will be worth what it says in its description.
I guess the moral of this sad tale of woe (* Killer Thief Sally fantasizes about using her Blade of Woe on the programmer who thought this up... *) is always complete the writ as soon as you get it. Make sure you have all the trait materials and actual crafting style for the required slot before you buy the writ. [Edit: Also make sure that you know enough traits for the requested set. Some require 9 traits or more!!!]
P.S. I searched for +Master +Writ and found no threads on this issue. I'm surprised no one has brought this up before. Am i doing something wrong?
