I am at level 10, and have just completed the mages guild quests. When using the alter of enchantment, I am not given the option of enchanting clothing or armour with +attribute or skill.

Does it have to do with my level?

Do you have any filled soul gems?

no it doesnt. if you want to have (lets say) night eye on a shoe. you have to have a night eye spell in your list. be sure you can cast that spell or you cant echant it.

At altar of enchanting you can only add effect to item if you have one in your spells or in your attribute affects (as high-elf's weakness to magic and so on)
I mean if you want to add for example resist frost, you must be able to cast it as a spell or have it in your character attribute effects

I didn't realize this applied to enchanting as well as to spell making. So I need to have an attribute increased in my active effects in order to have the option of enchanting an item with increased attribute.

I read through the other topics on enchanting and this wasn't specifically mentioned, sorry for the repeat thread.

thanks

No, you just have to have to be able to cast a spell which contains the effect you want to use.

or for more blood then gold and not need a spell for it use a sigil stone just use the sigil stone chooser glicth until you get the effects you want it may be long but its free and you dont need to have to cast a spell at all or have it in char attributes thats how i got my custom Soul Reaper katana so i can keep Goldbrand alive and kicking 8)

Best way to get attribute or skill increase spells with a low restoration or low max magicka is the doom stones. Greater powers count in the effects that you can apply, so use advantage of it.
