I will confess this is rather unorthodox of me and I'm somewhat new to the forums and all, but I have been a fan of the series since Oblivion (Infact it was my first elder scrolls game)

Anyways I came to post this WI thread here because while the folks over at the AlternateHistory. com forums are surprisingly knowledgeable about real world history in general, there isn't isn't a lot of people over there who are both knowledge about RL History and TES Lore at the same time and well... I kinda have an interesting scenario that I feel is worth discussing and speculating about.

For the unenlightened an ISOT is what happens when a person, place or thing is sent from one place in space-time to another by a higher power, usually the higher power used for such are called Alien Space Bats or Random Omniscient Beings. It can as simple as sending one person back in time to late 18th century Britain or sometime going as far a sending an entire continent from one world to another. The term ISOT is named after S. M. Stirling's famous novel, "Island in the Sea of Time" which sent the modern day island of Nantucket back to in time to the bronze age, infrastructure, people and all.

Now with all that out of the way, here is the scenario: What if the Tamrielic providences of Highrock, Hammerfell and Cyrodiil as of 1E 2708 (a few years after the Akaviri invasion of Tamriel), were ISOTed over northern Spain in the year of 532 A.D, with a few caveats:

• The ASB responsible tweaks the ocean and air currents so that global weather and climate disruption is minimal as possible
• The ASB utterly removes all diseases from the three ISOTed provinces
  • ..and give the ISOTed provinces reasonable immunity to most European diseases.
  • reasonable being defined as being equivalent to what Europeans at the time are immune and weak to.
• Magic still works in general, and can be taught to regular humans outside of the Reman Empire, but...
  • No CHIM (This would utterly break the scenario)
  • No Mantling (We don't people mantling as Jesus Christ)
  • The Elder Scrolls themselves do not come along
    • Nor do the Moth Priests
  • No Lycanthropy or Vampirism
    • all pre-existing Vampires and Were-beasts are restored to their pre-infection state
  • Spells from the School of Illusion can be resisted with a strong enough will and enough discipline
    • Trained Soldiers can now resist Illusion magic
  • The School of Conjuration has the following tweaks for purpose of this ISOT
    • Soul gem can still be recharged but
      • Human, Elven and Beastman souls can no longer be used in any way shape or form to charge Soul Gems
      • ...and this goes for all weapons enchanted with Soul Trap, including the Mace of Molag Bal and Umbra.
      • ...however souls from animals can still be used to charge Soul Gems
    • Necromancy can no longer be used to raise people and creatures from the dead (and this especially includes the infamous Staff of Worms, 'cause to Oblivion with Mannimarco!)
• The Divine and the Daedra also have been nerfed slighty for the sake of this ISOT
  • Both the Divines and the Daedra can no longer use Divine Intervention
    • ..nor can they appear on Earth physically
      • the only exception being summoned Daedra, and even then only temporarily
    • ..nor can they abduct people from the Earth
  • Both can no longer communicate with their followers outside of their respective place of worship
  • likewise the Daedric realms can no longer be entered
    • ..but both the Divine and Daedra can still grant blessing at their respective shrines
    • ..and that includes newly built shrines
  • And artifacts both Divine and Daedric still work, with a few exceptions
    • The Ring of Narima no longer boost stamina nor heals the wearing when eating corpses (infact it's now utterly useless)
    • The Ring of Hircene now offers enhanced sense of smell and eyesight instead of allowing the wearer to turn into a werewolf
    • The Skull of Corruption can no longer affect it's target's dreams
  • The Oghma Infinium does not come along for the ride, at all.
• For the sake of this ISOT all individuals not native to/ and or not already a citizen of Cyrodiil, Hammerfell or Highrock are sent back to their native provinces
• And now for the matters of state
  • All Imperial soldiers are sent to the nearest Forts, Castles and Military outposts within the ISOT area
  • All oversea Imperial Naval assets are sent to the nearest ports in the ISOT area
  • For the sake of this ISOT is it generally assumed that the Imperial Army and Navy both have just enough soldiers, supplies, equipment and ships to secure the three provinces from external threats
  • Reman Cyrodiil, The Blades, and the entire Elder Council are sent to the Imperial City at the time of the ISOT (to ensure that the Reman Empire still has a functional government for the ISOT)
