Efficient Leveling: Is it necessary?

I just started doing it and I'm already confused on how efficient leveling allows there to be any sort of a *game* at all. How many of you actually practice this technique and is it really worth it?

I just depends on how you want to play. Try it, if it is not fun, then try a new character. Try something different the next time. You will eventually find a way that is fun to play, yet enables you to get decent stats. It is not necessary to max 5 on all of your stats to play, and have fun, it helps to get close though. Getting a 3 or 4 in a stat once in a while won't kill you. Your character maybe, but not you...

Eventually you will get good weapons, armour, enchantments, spells, potions, ect, that will help even things out for you if you miss getting 5's in all of your stats once in a while.

Necessary? of course not.
Fun? Heck no! lol

The point of efficient leveling isn't to play the game, or to have fun. It's a painful and very tedious process that will leave you having gone nowhere in the game after a long time of playing.

The point is just to max the heck out of your stats to become the most obscenely strong character you can be. The end result of having a character who's powerful in all areas is fun, but the process is definitely not.

Efficient leveling is completely unnecessary, it's a single-player RPG that can be easily manipulated to give you a perfect character if you want. Play how you like, then tamper with your stats to gain the character that you like.

You can do Efficient Leveling, and role play.

I'm a Soldier (retired). We never just went to combat, we trained first. We never just trained, we set up training plans. We would train until it was a natural reaction. There is nothing wrong with keeping track of your stats, and making sure that you train in the Skills you want to raise that level.

I always do a training session right after leveling. I train in the skills that I want to raise. I don't Max them out, I just get enough so that I can at least get a 3. Then I go out and do Missions (Quests) until I level. I usually get a 4-5 for my three Attributes.

I'm a pretty diliberate person. That is just the way I am. So playing this way, is natural for me.

I find it's v. easy to max my stats each level. But then I also build up Luck, so I only need to get +5 on two stats for most levels.

As soon as I have enough points to level up, whether I do level up then or not, I write down all my stats. Then when I'm getting close to levelling up again, I look at what I've had gains in. If I don't have enough gains in two skills that I want to level up, I will do abit of training, or purchase some training just to top them up.

I nearly always overlevel on at least some skills this way, but I've never run out of skills to increase to max all stats.

Never bothered with it at all and never had a problem. Sure some fights are tough if your not stat perfect...but...thats kind of the point isn't it?

My characters usual stat increases are +3/+3/+2 with the occasional 4 or 5 in endurance if I've taken a particularly bad beating that level (Via H Armour/Block/Repair.

Also if you have maxed out stats it kind of takes all the joy our of picking up a stat boosting magic item like the Kavatch Cuiriass.
