Quick Question about equipment

While I gathering up materials and researching traits especially researching traits because I had let that lag behind especially in Light and Medium Armor since I was a heavy armor character when I first started. Now having almost having 6 traits including Divines researched on the items I would need to craft for the 5 Light,1 Medium 1 Heavy split recommended for Magicka DK's.I am thinking finally changing my armor.I know that currently the best armor sets drops in Veteran Level Group Dungeons but I think I should probably craft a trait set first because with my current equip I probably wouldn't last long enough in a Veteran Group Dungeon to even get the chance at getting one of those good dropped sets. But issue is that crafting CP160 crafted gear costs lots of materials and I really don't feel like grinding for all those mats especially since crafted sets have been out done by dropped sets.

So I have two proposed plans in regards to this situation

1.Craft a Medium Chest plate then Light Sash,Gloves,Breeches and Shoes in the Law of Julianos Set CP 150 which costs far less materials, with the Divines Trait and Magicka Enchantments, pair that with a Heavy Helmet and Light Shoulders crafted in the Torugs Pact with the Divines Trait and Magicka Enchantments then pair with a with 2 Torugs Pact Destruction Staffs CP 150 one Inferno and One Lightning
one with the Sharpened and Precise Trait or maybe both Sharpend with Absorb Magicka Enchantments

or

2.Grind in Stonefalls for Light Armor Divines Trait Magicka Enchanted Silks of the Sun Set equipment in the Chest,Sash,Gloves,Breeches and Shoes Slots then make Heavy Helmet Torugs Pact and Medium Shoulder Torugs pact both with Divines Traits and Magicka Enchantments and the same set of Staves as option 1.

This should hopefully bring me up to point where I can tackle Veteran Group Dungeons and Trials so I can go for Best in Slot Dropped sets and improve my jewelry since all the best stuff for that is dropped sets since you can't craft Jewelry.I can try for Maelstrom Staff at one point but I have heard that place is a nightmare and it could all be for naught if my reward doesn't include any staves or the ones I am looking for.So Torug's Pact should fill the gap nicely while I a try for the more realistic Moon Dancer or Burning Spellweave.

My plan for tackling the DLC has changed its now Orsinium,Thieves Guild,Dark Brotherhood,Morrowind, then grinding in the group dungeons and trials for best in slot gear plus doing Shadow of the Hist, then Craglorn hopefully I can find some people to group with me so I can do all the Craglorn content then finish it off in Cyrodiil for PVE,Skyshards and finally Imperial City (including Imperial Prison and White Gold Tower).

How does my plan sound and which equipment plan should I follow? I also forgot to mention but my equipment plan does also mean I will temper that equipment to at least the third level of improvement.Since I have got quite a bit of tempering mats. Also I will try to being grinding up Provisioning,Alchemy and Enchantment which I kind of ignored for a while.

I would suggest that you make CP 150 gear rather than grind. Go for a Heavy Chest and Medium Legs, since these pieces offer the most armour. Then everything else in Light. Make your staffs CP 160 if you can, because weapons contribute the most to your damage. And upgrade everything to purple.

Have you checked your DPS against a Target Skeleton? The current meta for Magicka DPS involves chain-drinking potions to boost Spell Power and Spell Critical - the ones made from Corn Flower, Lady's Smock and Water Hyacinth - as soon as you are able to after the previous one runs out. If you have all of the passives in Medicinal Use (Alchemy) then potions last for about a minute.

Honestly, the order of DLC doesn't matter too much, but why not start with Morrowind while there are plenty of people around to form groups? Also, if you leave Craglorn until last, you will be bored - it was fun while you still needed groups of 4 for everything, but now a good player can solo almost everything in the zone. So you might want to move that up too.

I would recommend that if you have any questions about ESO, you drop into the UESP Discord #online channel. http://discord.gg/uesp will take you to our Discord, then scroll down the channel list on the left-hand side until you find #online. It'll get a much quicker response than asking via the forums, since there are usually hundreds of us logged on at any given time :)

Yeah I made the Staves CP160 Torugs Pact because I had a lot of Ruby Ash Wood and upgraded both to Purple.I got to the Chest and Legs because currently I was gonna make a Medium Chest piece but I got to wait for my research into the divines trait on the Item in order to make it.So I could go heavy but first I gotta see how many traits I have researched in both Medium Legs and Heavy chest to see if I have enough including divines.Right now my leg armor is light. But I will have to check into medium leg armor tomorrow as well as the heavy chest.I also need to starting grinding my alchemy skill.
